Ever thought that not using parts of your brain could also restrict your life?
Youâve probably heard âif you donât use it you will lose itâ?? And that is pretty easy to understand from a physical perspective...like you go to do something you havenât done for a while & you realise itâs not that easy..also you can feel it more(soreness etc)
Well when I played my 1st 2 games of Walking Hockey I did feel
some physical discomfort when I had to stretch & pass the ball.
However the biggest shock I got was the ball kept hitting me on the feet even though I had my stick in front of me to prevent this.
Glory Gylsson(Mind & Wellness Coach) pointed out that is was probably because I hadnât played hockey for 9 yrs that this part of my brain had âswitched offâ
Sure enough from the 3rd match all my timing & skills began returning.
There was similar feedback from several others who have come back to play after several years âretiredâ from hockey.
It is also interesting watching people who have never played where their brain kicks in on 2 fronts..one for something new & another to wake this part of the brain ( like a new muscle)
So we can see huge opportunities for people to expand the use of their brain in many ways (especially extending the life and preventing the shrinking of one of their most valuable assets) by enjoying the fun of Walking Hockey.
Chesney Walking Hockey offers the added opportunity to learn how to maximise all aspects of this exciting game!
I point out that this was purely my own experience plus the feedback of others .
I welcome any feedback and questions
Ok guys just wanted to answer a question from my friend Derek Papas
Derek contributed regularly on field hockey skills & ideas
Derek asked how fast is Walking Hockey?
Itâs a really good question cos from the sideline the game looks quite slow
However when you get on the pitch everything is happening quite fast.
I noticed I had to make decisions quicker cos I couldnât use my running speed. So it creates a lot quicker awareness
The other thing is the pitch is a lot smaller than in normal hockey so the players can become regularly engaged regardless of skill or agility level
Last week when I was playing I found myself surrounded by a number of players with no pass available. So I decided to use the skills I had been taught many years ago to eliminate 3 players to create a pass to one of my team mates
Now I donât say this to impress any of you but purely to illustrate that Walking Hockey offers everyone no matter what level an opportunity to participate with any ability
Whereas in normal hockey many people may feel left out & not wish to come back next week đ
Ok folks we are up and running!
Will be posting info as we progress
You may like to read the story how this all started
cheers
Alan or Ches as many of you know me!
This was the 1st album I bought..just love it!
Love it!
I am very excited to learn about Telomeres....apparently they determine everything that goes on in our body.especially the ageing process..and until recently we could only control them a little bit(live a better quality life and live a bit longer) with a better lifestyle....but now due to a Solution backed by over 20 years of Science we now have the opportunity to enhance everything in our body...imagine a life where you can feel terrific every day??I particularly like this solution for people in Sports...preventing and overcoming injuries quickly...no mater what age....i really want to share this with the world! Who wouldnt??
I am astounded as to the number of my friends who have some sort of medical challenge
Quite a few have had blocked arteries and have had stents implanted plus been prescribed statins to thin their blood
They are then told its all ok just come back from time to time for a check up! Unbelievable!
None of them have been told what will happen to their gut health or the possible damage to other organs like liver and kidneys...i guess its another chance to flog a few more drugs and shorten their lives??
The beauty is that we have simple solutions to both prevent and repair these situations with no drugs!
Two of theses friends are very fit and Ă©ating ''healthy food"...just shows there is something not quite right going on
One of them said he was running and had to stop cos he was short of breath..went to the Dr..then Cardiologist..one artery 75% blocked..Cardiologist said could still compete in his sport but only at 75%...my friend says ''cant you just blast the artery clear for me?""..Cardiologist says ''yes of course and we may blast you into a coffin!""....so my friend is now looking at a simple solution with me
Will share about my other friend next time
These guys are in the 50''s and bullet proof! yeah right!
Still loving Perth its such a wonderful city!
Great being back in Perth....lots of positive enhancements in the city and its surrounds..especially the transport system!
Wonderful travelling around the city using this system...catching up with people i havent seen for a while..
So grateful to be able to choose my hours and enjoy my lifestyle!
Hi Everyone....really enjoying being back in Western Australia after nearly 9 years based near Durban in South Africa..the beautiful clear blue skies & lovely clean beaches are very special.. will miss the wonderful vibrant Zulu people with their ready smiles & friendliness...it is also a whole new adventure for Cindy Matt & Josh..especially as we have been experiencing both Perth city & the beach town of Binningup ..
No matter where we are it is so wonderful to feel so healthy and enjoy the present moment đ

Why CHESNEY WALKING HOCKEY?
Everything begins with an idea or a dream!
It all started from excitement and enthusiasm after being handed a cheap hockey stick at the age of six! This was at my small primary school of 250 kids in the small seaside suburb of Redcliffs in Christchurch NZ.
Every boy at Redcliffs was expected to play hockey! The school had a proud history of providing many Provincial (Canterbury) and NZ representatives. I realised early on that I was pretty good at it. After representing my school & province, it became a dream of mine to play at the Olympic Games.
I was selected to represent NZ in the World Cup in Amsterdam in 1973.There were more successes including another World Cup in Kuala Lumpur in 1975. Then my real dream was realised when I played in the 1976 Montreal Olympics!
