OMG! Super cool! I was awarded a Special Merit for my painting, in the Light Space and Time “Women’s Art exhibition”. This is not an animal artist comp, It could be any subject, and that a horsey artist did so well has left me a bit speechless! Out of 1147 from women artists from around the world, from 30 different countries! Feeling very grateful and humbled right now. This is what they say about the category I made it into. So cool.⁠
Special Merit Award Category – These are the artists and their artwork which we felt could easily have been placed higher but due to the size constraints in each media category, this art was placed in this special category. Any of the Special Merit art, in many cases, is interchangeable with the best art that we selected for the top tiers.⁠

Are you getting enough physical exercise in your week to reduce the risk of chronic conditions such as heart disease, stroke or diabetes?

The WHO advice is 150-300 minutes a week of moderate-intense exercise (breaking a sweat, increase in heart rate), 2x weekly strength sessions and if you are over 60 years old, some balance exercise.

This could be a morning bike ride, walking the kids or grandkids to school, a beach walk, a brisk walk with the dog around the park or weekend mountain climb!

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know masks will need to be worn in any close contact area for the next 3 days. This will include our treatment rooms, reception and clinic waiting area.

A reminder that if you have been to the greater Brisbane area since March 20th please self-isolate and call to rebook your appointment.

We appreciate everyone’s corporation over this time.

😷 Mask requirements across Queensland are coming into effect from 5pm today (Monday 29 March).

You must carry a face mask with you at all times when you leave home, unless you have a lawful reason not to.

You must wear a mask in indoor spaces, such as:
🛒 shopping centres, supermarkets, retail outlets and indoor markets
🏥 hospitals and aged care facilities
☕ hospitality venues such as restaurants and cafés (not required for patrons while seated; customer facing staff only)
⛪ churches and places of worship
📚 libraries
🏋️‍♂️ indoor recreational facilities and gyms (except if doing strenuous exercise)
🖥️ indoor workplaces (where safe to wear a mask and you can’t physically distance)
🚆 public transport, taxis and rideshare, including waiting areas and queues for this transport
✈️ airports and travelling on planes.

It is strongly recommended you wear a mask outdoors if you are unable to stay more than 1.5m distance from other people, such as busy walkways and thoroughfares.

👉 Masks do not need to be worn in some circumstances, including children under 12 years, where people have certain medical conditions, and in workplaces where it is not safe to do so.

You can remove your masks to consume food or drink.

New classes have been added!!!
A stretch and muscle release class has now been added to our timetable. Simone will be taking weekly classes on Wednesday at 2pm
This class is designed to help release muscle tightness and tension, improve mobility and help the body relax and unwind from a busy week
Simone will also be adding another PILATES REFORMER class Monday at 2pm

Should I stop running if my knee hurts? 03/09/2020

Great post to read if you are a runner and suffering with knee pain or are worried that participating in running or high impact exercise can damage the knee joint.

Studies have shown that regular recreational running improves the knee joint health, reducing the risk of developing knee osteoarthritis.

If you do develop pain it can often be related to a change in your program (i.e instensity, duration, frequency or terrain) and load management of the knee is required for the body to adapt and build strength to this change.

A physiotherapist at Hinteractive Physio can work with you to assist with a management plan around your running program, exercises required to improve strength of the knee and advice to keep you moving, active and achieving your exercise goals!

With our QLD borders opening and increasing cases of COVID-19 in Victoria and NSW we have to do our best to continue to be aware of hand hygiene, social distancing and self isolating if we get sick!

New to our exercise classes and not sure whether they would be suitable for you??
Our classes are all run by our physios, they are focused around functional strength, we can provide modifications for those who are recovery from injury and we ensure you have correct technique to optimise your workout. They are suitable for all ages and levels and use a variety of weight and resistance.
Here is our physio Jo demonstrating some beginner progressions for core strength.
