A huge thank you to all our fabulous helpers who came along to cook up a storm at Bunnings last Saturday! A big thank you to the P&C committee members that got everything organised for the day to go ahead, from ordering sausages to making sure they were cut up individually, to transporting them to Bunnings itself. It took a team, and what a team we were.
Together, we raised over $1,500 for our school.
Thank you to those who came along to buy a sausage and help us raise this money to add to our fundraising goals for 2024.

Kids Giving Back is a not-for-profit organisation that provides volunteering opportunities for children, teens and families across NSW. It's a great organisation that teaches the value of giving back.
They will hold a 'Cook4Good' Mega Marathon fundraising on Sunday 22nd September.
π« IT'S FRESH FRUIT FRIDAY! π«
This week Oatlands Village FRESH Produce gave us snow peas for the students to try. They look delicious! Thanks for another week of fresh yummy fruit/veg.
We have had feedback from students and parents that the kids are loving trying new things and have found some new flavours they never imagined liking before.
The power of trying things with friends β€οΈπ«
Our choir students travelled over to Chatswood together on Monday with our incredible music teacher Mrs Lawrence to rehearse all day, then perform as a part of the 'Sydney NorthWest Music Festival' during the evening.
A huge day for all. The kids did an incredible job during the concert representing our school with many other choir students from other schools plus a number of amazing school bands and musicians.
Congratulations to our students on another music experience and a massive thank you to our fabulous Mrs Lawrence.
We have been told by Bunnings to expect LOTS of people on Saturday so we need more helpers! Can you give us one hour of your Saturday?

Winter Reading Challenge
Donβt forget to finalise recording logs with the dates and minutes read so that class winners can be calculated. Reading logs need to be returned to class teachers by Monday 19th August.
Students also need to collect any donations from sponsors. All funds need to be collected/received by Monday 19th August to count towards the fundraising targets.
Winners and the fundraising outcome will be announced at the Book Week Parade on Thursday next week, 22nd August.

FRESH FRIDAY
The past 2 weeks we have been lucky enough to try cherry tomatos and celery from Oatlands Village FRESH Produce
Thank you again for your continued supported allowing our students to experience and they new tastes, textures and foods with friends.
Thanks to the parent helpers who have organised to prepare the food for our classes the last 2 weeks.

Winter Reading Challenge
Ends this MONDAY 12TH AUGUST!
Students have until Monday 19th August to finish collecting sponsorship.
The money raised from this Challenge will help the P&C raise funds to fund and support key projects to enhance the schools infrastructure such as installation of a water filling station and upgrade of the school LED sign.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our students with this Challenge so far.
Today our students will do a warm up game, a handball game called Golden Ball and a kicking game called Coast to Coast during their AFL lesson by AFLNSWACT.
We have been incredibly lucky to have the AFL at our school for the last 2 terms and look forward to another term to practise our skills.
Thank you to the wonderful coaches who have come to our school over this time we are so grateful π.

The weather held off (although it was very chilly at times) while the OPS students gave it a 'Red Hot GO!' during our athletics carnival today.
It was so great to see so many students participating and trying their best in so many events today.
K-2 enjoys a tabloid and 100m races while 3-6 had opportunities to do 800m, 100m, 200, Long Jump, and relay.

During Term 3 our students will be participating in the 'Premiers Sporting Challenge.
What is the 'Premiers Sporting Challenge'?
To promote increased participation in sport and physical activity, leading to healthier, more active lifestyles, the Premier's Sporting Challenge (PSC) is a multi-faceted program offering a range of initiatives to Department of Education students and teachers across the state.
The PSC aims to get more students and staff more active, more often.
What better time to get active than during the Olympics!! After our athletics carnival today we hope you are looking forwards to being active and be inspired by our Aussie Olympians who are in Paris competing over the next couple of weeks.
