The session was well-received and provided a great opportunity for colleagues to discuss the future of occupational hygiene and how real-time monitoring is being used today to protect worker health.

Today is RU OK Day – a national movement on a mission to inspire and empower people to connect with those around us, not just today but every day.

After another year of uncertainty, lockdowns, and continued pressure thanks to COVID-19, it's important to take a moment to check in with ourselves, colleagues, family and friends. Creating an opportunity to share our challenges, wins and struggles can make all the difference.

When we genuinely ask someone, “are you really OK?”, and are prepared to talk to them about how they’re feeling and what’s going on in their life, we can help those who might be struggling to feel connected and supported, long before they’re in crisis.

Our free Conversation Guide contains practical tips on how to navigate an R U OK? conversation, today, tomorrow and any time someone needs your support.

Fire authorities warn of inadequate smoke alarm laws

Photoelectric smoke alarms save lives!

Among the recommendations are that a regulated position be established on the most effective type of smoke alarms and their optimal location. It also called for industry advice to be developed so factors such as cost did not solely determine what type of smoke alarm was chosen.
