The Bower Bike-ologists have just reached 100 bikes back on the road in just 3 months! Head Bikeologist Ben says - "Our goal is to reach 500 Bikes back on the road every year. With a success rate of 4 out of 5 so far, that's a lot broken bikes saved from going to landfill. What we can't repair is dismantled and parts are salvaged - including the frame tubing. What can't be re-used is separated into rubber, metal and plastics and recycled."

In NAIDOC Week we're pleased to share how we were able to help a local community member supply a dozen reclaimed and restored bikes for a remote Indigenous Community with limited means of transport.

In just a month the Bower bike repairers and volunteers got 12 bikes ready to ride and our truck team delivered them to the community centre that would then take them out to the remote community in Weilmoringle, western NSW.

“The bikes are amazing! Thank you to all for the incredible donation to a very remote Community of 30 houses and a primary school with 3 children, no shop… Nearest shop is over 1 hour 1/2 hrs away.… it is very remote” said the community worker who took delivery of the bikes.

As well as 8 adult and 4 children's bikes, we supplied a toolbox with spare inner tubes and tools to enable the community to keep their bikes maintained.
