His cocktail “Lorraine Sour” takes inspiration from the classic rhubarb tart, an incredibly popular pastry in France, particularly in the northeast region of Lorraine.

Highlighting Giffard Liqueurs and Syrups and their incredible French roots, their rhubarb liqueur takes centre stage, supported by calvados, another national spirit.

His cocktail “Midnight Fizz” Insipired by Rock n Roll - a beautiful genre that combines elements of jazz, R&B, country music with the addition of electronic instruments. In my cocktail “midnight fizz”, beautiful flavours from the Giffard portfolio comes together to give birth to a that will give you singing and dancing past midnight.

The drink is tied to an iconic song and one of the most influential singers ever, Ray Charles Robinson Sr.

𝐍𝐨.𝟓/𝟖 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 : Alessandro Nardini (Bar Crafts) from FABLE Melbourne in Melbourne at the time. Since then Alessandro became the Victorian representative for the amazing brand we presented to the finalists during the Giffard finals weekend called Republic of Fremantle Distillery

His cocktail “The Fountain of Youth” - a mythical spring, that allegedly restored the youth of anyone who drinks or bathes in its waters. Tales of such a fountain have been recounted around the world for thousands of years, appearing in the writings of Herodotus since the 5th century BC. Stories of similar waters also featured prominently among the people of the Caribbean during the Age of Exploration. In this drink, he tries to recreate the legendary character of the story through aromas and flavours. A great mix of Worthy Park Estate Jamaican Rum and the incredible Giffard Australia Caribbean Pineapple Liqueur are paired with ingredients of both the old and new world such as verjuice, stone fruits and tropical flavours!

No.4/8 of this series : Hunter Gregory () from Maybe Sammy in Sydney.

His cocktail “Breakfast in Paris” is a twist on the classic breakfast martini with a French influence. Giffard Liqueurs and Syrups premium liqueurs are the heart of this cocktail, transporting the guest to Paris. This cocktail is inspired by his travels to Paris and his love for music. Lady Marmalade from Moulin Rouge is the song that inspires this cocktail transporting the consumer.

15ml Giffard Australia Fleur De Sureau Sauvage
5ml Giffard Australia Pimento D’Espelette
20ml Vodka
25ml Lemon
1 bar spoon of Homemade Jam

Shake and double strain over a large ice cube.

🏆 Giffard West Cup - Finalists Flashback '22 (before the '24 edition) 🌟

No.3/8 of this series : Ava Govanstone () from in Melbourne.

Her cocktail “The Infernal Gallop” Inspired by the song ‘Galop Infernal’, composed by Jacques Offenbach for his opera, ‘Orpheus in the Underworld.’

More famous as the music behind the ‘can-can,’ when it debuted in 1874, it was considered to be outrageous, irreverent, and quite beyond the pale. Naturally, audiences loved it. The end result? A perfectly balanced celebration of everything hot and cold, sweet and sour.

THE INFERNAL GALLOP
35ml Giffard Pomegranate
30ml Tequila Pueblo Viejo Reposado
50ml Clarified pineapple juice
20ml Clarified lime juice

Coconut and cardamom marshmallow.
Shake and double strain, top with coconut cardamom marshmallow. Blaze 20ml pomegranate infused Pueblo Viejo reposado and pour over..

No.2/8 of this series and now beverage manager of the precinct hosting the event State Buildings & Long Chim Perth : Matty Bodycote was beverage manager of The Old Synagogue at the time

Matty is a staple of the West Australian hospitality and the bar dad of many young bartenders in the state. He has been in charge or all types of venues and it was a pleasure to see him represent WA and shine at the finals.

His cocktail “Sally” Inspired by Little Richard’s song Sally (Long Tall), this fizz like highball is an approachable, bubbly, easy to drink and fun cocktail that represents the main character of the song, Sally, a family friend of the artist whom dearly loved roses and used to drink whiskey (hot toddies) all day, as a cure, she claimed, for her persistent cold.
