Stand tall and speak loud!

Labor will always take an evidence based approach to this issue recognising that the earlier child comes into contact with the justice system, the more prolonged their involvement is likely to be.

We want to keep the community safe by intervening before a child at risk gets caught up in the justice system.

And that’s not all - we’ve also ticked off enough renewables projects to power 3 million homes and we’re making sure Australians have reliable energy, too.

Territorians have spoken and a new Northern Territory Government will be formed under Lia Finocchiaro.

I’m very proud of what the Labor Government achieved over the past 8 years. We’ve built more homes than any other Government, sealed more roads than ever before and invested in things that matter like health, education and justice.

The work doesn’t stop as we move into Opposition. My focus will be on holding the new Government to account, to govern for all Territorians, no matter how they voted or where they live

I’m humbled and grateful to people in Gwoja for giving me the opportunity to represent them for the next four years.

As always I’ll be working for the bush.

It is with deep sorrow I acknowledge the passing of former NT Labor Government Minister, Barkly Regional Councillor, Elliot McAdam.

Born and raised in Elliott, his traditional ties to the region ran deep and strong.
Elliot never stopped fighting for the people of the Barkly.

He was a fearless and tenacious leader, going in to bat for the whole community when no one else would.

His contribution to the Barkly will be felt for years to come, and my heartfelt condolences go out to your family and friends during this difficult time.

Thank you for everything you did, Elliot, rest in peace.

This Saltwater woman from Borroloola, of the Yanyuwa Garrawa people, will go to Government House tomorrow to be sworn into the Federal Cabinet.

I’ll take the place of my friend and mentor Linda Burney. It’s been an extraordinary journey and a wonderful privilege to walk beside both her and former Senator Pat Dodson for the last eight years.

Thank you to the Prime Minister - who I know shares the strong vision to close the gap.

Thank you to my family, my husband Richard, my two sons CJ and Grayson and our four beautiful girls Hadassah, Ebony, Indianna, and Nevaeh; they are my daily reminder of why I do the work I do, in service to the people of the Northern Territory, and now to the country as the Minister for Indigenous Australians.

Thank you to the people of the Northern Territory who sent me to Canberra; you’ve now got a seat and a determined voice at the Cabinet table.

I am truly humbled.

We would like to thank Linda Burney for her service to the people of Australia. During her time as Minister for Indigenous Australians, she has made significant difference in the lives of Australians. Minister Burney visited Central Australia many times and we'd like to thank her for support.
