Six years ago today, Como by Design opened its doors, and what an incredible event it was! Over three days, we drew in massive crowds to see how 25 talented designers transformed the historic Como House.
Being part of something so special and serving on the committee to help bring it to life was an unforgettable experience. I’m beyond proud of what we pulled off together!
YES, it’s time for another event like this, and if anyone with deep pockets is looking to sponsor… I know a brilliant group of designers who would love to make it happen again! Let’s do this!
One of my favorite parts of this gig is site visits!
There is nothing quite like seeing our designs - those ideas that have been floating around in our heads - finally take shape in the real world. It’s where all the planning, creativity, and details start to come to life, and we can already imagine how the finished space will feel.
It’s these moments that make the design journey so rewarding.
Our south yarra project is really coming together & showing off its pretty colour combos!
Here’s another glimpse of our stunning Carlton Art House kitchen.
This galley-style kitchen, located at the front of the home, features a shelf that subtly screens off the space while adding a delightful design detail!

Excited to share a highlight from our Carlton Art House project—a galley kitchen that truly elevates the art of design. With its meticulously crafted joinery and striking emerald quartzite bench tops, this space is both functional and stunning. (If I say so myself!!) The hand-stained oak veneer adds a personal touch that feels both elegant and inviting.
Every detail in this space has been thoughtfully considered to create a kitchen that’s as practical as it is beautiful. It’s all about crafting spaces that reflect personality while serving the needs of our clients - just as it should be!
Why? Because I’m getting the Spring feels!
Another gorgeous colour moment at our Carlton art house.

Just one of the beautiful corner moments in the kitchen at our Carlton art house.
I don’t know what I love more - the stunning emerald haze quartzite stone tops, or the hand stained fluted detail. Eh- I can love it all!
Indulge me in a bit of favoritism, but our living room at Carlton art house never fails to bring a smile to my face! Overflowing with vibrant colors and brimming with the lively spirits of its inhabitants, it's a true haven of happiness that radiates joy!
What a lovely way to live!
We never underestimate the privilege of being welcomed into someone's personal space to craft their dream home.
Our Carlton art house project has been a delight, with our client bravely embracing our ideas and It's incredibly rewarding to hear that her friends and family recognise her essence in every corner of the house.
Our pride lies in creating spaces that authentically reflect the personalities of those who inhabit them, going beyond mere words to capture their true essence.

When luxury meets functionality!
The powder room at our Carlton North art house design blends seamless elegance with practicality. Behind beautifully wallpapered doors lies a hidden laundry, seamlessly integrated for convenience. Intricate joinery, luxurious marble, vintage glass wall lights, and a touch of brass elevate the space, creating a haven that's both pretty and functional.
Who says laundry can't be chic?

As you can see in this picture of my living room, I am certainly not a minimalist.
Nor am I a fan of the greige & sterile movement that took over the world for far too long.
I AM a fan of homes with individuality and personality.
And in my case.. lots of colour, art & textiles
I look forward to this sort of technology being more widely used in Australia.

Home is where the art is!
As an interior designer, I believe that our homes are more than just four walls; they're a canvas for self-expression and creativity. The art we choose to adorn our spaces becomes an extension of our own personality and story.
Art has the incredible power to evoke emotions, inspire, and transform a room into a sanctuary. Whether it's a bold statement piece or a gallery of cherished memories, it breathes life into our living spaces.
I always said I wanted to live on a home full of art & that’s exactly what I got!

Practicing what I preach.
As you can see here - I live with colour, art, textiles & I wouldn’t/couldn’t have it any other way!

Pretty in pink!
The Powder room that is also a laundry at our Carlton art house is looking so very special - even with my crappy photo skills!
Swipe to see what was before - it’s really quite the transformation!
With so much going on on the world at the moment, I’m really hoping that Australians can all come together this weekend & realise the only answer in the Voice referendum is YES to recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people in the constitution through granting them a voice in parliament.
For the past 250 years, we haven’t properly listened to the people who have been here for 65,000. It’s about bloody time we did.
I will be voting YES. I’m really hoping majority of Australians do too.
This beautiful painting “bush melon painted by Louise Numina Napananka hangs in my home above my bed.
VOTE YES. Be on the right side if history.
I was standing in our Nth Carlton art house today looking at this lovely scene which filled me with joy. This home is full of beautiful pieces we’ve curated and the result is something really individual & special! Can’t wait to share more!
**On site happenings**
A final walk through today before demo begins of the project I’ve long been referring to as Barbie’s dream house (pre film! & because it’s always reminded me of the Barbie’s dream house I had as a kid in the 80’s!! - the same era of this house!)
We have some very cool ideas that will be be brought to life & don’t worry - we are retaining so much of the original character - I was adamant that this curved glass brick wall remain as is - because awesome!
Finishing off a busy week with a visit to our Bentleigh project which is coming along beautifully!
And I’m pretty thrilled with the vanity we designed - dark stained oak is never a bad idea, nor is adding just a lil some thin’ some thin’ in just the right way!!
