Khalil Gibran on Fear 💛

It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.

She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.

And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.

But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.

Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.

The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.

~ Khalil Gibran

Thanks to everyone who attended the Easter retreat. This is our annual silent yoga & meditation retreat we have held since 2008. People came from all over Australia – Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast, Brisbane and even New Caledonia.

It was an absolute pleasure to facilitate this group. Everyone was truly amazing with their dedication and was very committed to the practice, which culminates in the process of awakening the soul.

The energy was very elevated with everyone connecting to a deep stillness and peace.

In this time of great change, the more we are directly connected to our soul, the easier it will be to remain resilient, compassionate, grateful and present, with all the ups and downs along the way of this magnificent journey that is life.

Thanks everyone you are a true inspiration. ❤️

Art of love - _T|A|N|T|R|A_ workshop

Discovering the art of love is intrinsic to a balanced and full life.

This profound drive to fuse and merge with another is the subconscious desire to become whole. To complete ourselves – the union of the masculine and the feminine polarity.

There is a masculine and feminine dynamic within all of us. This self-awareness gives us the opportunity to discover our feminine and masculine qualities. How we relate to our significant other is a reflection of how we relate to ourself.

Do we truly understand our partner? Do we truly understand ourself? What we see in our partner is a reflection of ourself. We can then also begin to understand at a deeper level how we relate to the qualities of the masculine & feminine.

Relationships can be a source of our greatest joy and also our greatest challenge.

Often they start off well but inevitably we are all faced with various challenges. The relationship is neither you, or your partner. It is an ‘entity' that is created with the fusion of consciousness of both yourself and your partner. It can grow, thrive and blossom or become stagnant and gradually decay.

We should deeply contemplate what emotional and psychological fuel we are giving to our relationship. Is your input compassion, acceptance and laughter? Or is your contribution contempt, disharmony or drama?

No relationship is perfect and every relationship is unique. What we attract in a partner is where we personally need to grow and develop. In today’s society this is even more significant as we have often lost the connection to our tribe and this nurturing support and mechanism for accountability is notably absent for many people.

What expectations do we have of our relationships? Are they fulfilling us? Are they co-dependent? Are we incapable of deeply relating as we have too many blindspots?

Do we make time for pleasure? Is it really a priority? Or is it just an act of maintaining the relationship?

Why do we allocate time for so many other activities that produce little if any benefit and starve our relationship of pleasure? This act of sabotaging our relationship is very common.

All relationships have different seasons and cycles. And it is always possible to turn the page and start a new chapter.

Amplifying love and intimacy provides the qualities for a sustainable and enduring connection.

2024 – storm & chaos or peace & tranquility, what will it be?

Life on this planet seems to be increasingly filled with instability. The news is screaming with terrifying click bate headlines. Drought one day and floods the next! We are served political instability and human suffering for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Has the world gone mad or has technology allowed selected news to literally be in our face 24/7?

The ancient wisdom teaching of yoga tells us that this planet is a school of evolution taught by its dual nature. Duality is essential for the human spirit to differentiate between light and dark, chaos and order, unrest and tranquility.

This discernment leads to a quest for happiness and everything that is good. Duality, including its challenging aspects, is the teacher of evolution. And hey… – are we getting plenty of that these days!

So, how do we navigate the stormy waters of life on this planet?

Some aspects of our life experience is out of our hands yet our inner world is fully ours to nurture and master. The ancient wisdom teachings of yoga have endured for 1000’s of years, because it provides practical tools to steer us through the turbulence of life. We and the world are constantly changing, yet we carry a deep calm that is available even during times of unrest.

At our local evening yoga classes people arrive after a day filled with life's responsibilities. As the group settle in we take some time to centre around the breath and bring our awareness into the temple of our body. We all make the commitment to let go of our everyday life and stay present, to enjoy a big exhale, – for the duration of the class.

We begin the practice and allow pose after pose, breath work and mediation to do its magic – and voila! Our inner state is transformed.

All the pieces of our being that was ‘rattling’ is back in order. Issues that were racing through our minds has lost its charge and our inner being is filled with stillness and harmony.

The world is still the same. The news is still shouting about one crisis after another. Yet our frequency has changed. We have tuned into the ‘channel' of tranquility.

It never stops to amaze us, even after all these years, how wondrous and powerful the ancient practice of yoga truly is.

So, what will 2024 bring – storm & chaos or peace & tranquility?

The answer is; with the knowledge and commitment to a spiritual practice, it’s up to us.

We wish from our heart for your body, mind and soul to blossom and thrive in 2024.

Discover stillness this Easter

The relationship you have with yourself is the most important one you'll ever have.

It never ends!

So why do so many people avoid this perennial relationship?
Yes, so many of us will do everything we can to avoid becoming intimate with ourselves.

Checking out, numbing out, avoidance and escapism are all well used coping mechanisms.
Addiction is another big one that takes many forms – TV, celebrity worship, watching sport, internet & social media, food, p**n, drugs, alcohol, over working and on and on it goes.

Underlying these coping mechanisms is often an unwillingness to make peace with ourselves.

To know who we are.
To accept who we are.
To love who we are.

Why is this lack of self-worth a crisis in our society? Why are we always trying to be someone we are not? Trying to endlessly achieve unattainable goals? Are we truly never enough?

What if we flipped the script and actively engaged the fullness of who we are and loved ourselves without limitation or restriction?
This embracing of ourselves is one of the most beautiful gifts we can ever receive, but it can only ever come from ourself.

If you are becoming aware of the chaos of your monkey-mind, the never ending berating nature of your inner critic, and that a whole bunch of people are living rent-free in your head, perhaps it's time to take control of your mind and make your inner peace a priority?

There's a reason why people keep coming back to this retreat year after year. It's because once you experience the stillness within you'll realise that this is the fulfilment and contentment you have always been searching for.

This long-standing retreat has been running since 2008 and we welcome you to join us for this immersion into your birth-right of
stillness and peace.

But that's the thing about this birth-right – you have to claim it for yourself.

So join us this Easter in the Gold Coast hinterland for our annual Easter retreat. The earlybird is still available.
