Appreciation post…This post is probably one of the most important messages Bernard and I will ever write!! This boy was the absolute engine of Marché - our beautiful son Luke. He cooked like a man possessed, he created like a man with a gift I absolutely know very few possess and he was a friend to anyone everyone who entered the Marché stores whether they be customers or staff. This beautiful boy has carried Marché when times have been extremely difficult and times when it’s been beyond incredibly majestic but it’s not just him- his beautiful husband S has sacrificed so much to allow Marché to be what is was and forever will be! S you have our eternal gratitude!!! Lukey the words in this post will never ever be an adequate way of describing the love, admiration and complete gratitude we have for everything you’ve done over the past 11 years! It will forever be us 3 and the Marché family proving that just good old fashion love for each other, good coffee and honest food is the recipe for true heart happiness!!! Lukey we completely adore you and my darling - THANK YOU ETERNALLY. ♥️
Yesterday we closed our doors at Marché for the last time. We are processing all of our feels still but what we do know is how grateful we feel for working with such an amazing team for the past 5 years. Each and every one of these wonderful people, and all of our past staff, were an absolute integral part of Marché and we literally could not have done it without them. We had a lovely night last night at celebrating the end of an era but also the continuation of what we know will be life long friendships. Thank you Marché team for being you - we are forever grateful that you came on this journey with us! x
There is so much yummy food coming out of the kitchen today for your final taste of Marché! We are moving the line quite quickly so come on in and say hi! ❤️
Our final day! ❤️ We are open until 12 today…. The lines are already down the street at both stores and the tears are already flowing. We love you so much. Thank you for making us feel so special today x
Well our last day is almost here… after 11 beautiful years, tomorrow will be our final day of opening the doors at Marché du Macaron.
We have been so busy since announcing our closure a fortnight ago that we haven’t really had a chance to stop, take a breath, and take it all in. While we never took your support for granted (without it we never would have made it this far!!!), we really didn’t realise until recently how much of a huge impact Marché has had on so many peoples lives. The stories, the tears, the hugs, the laughs and the most heartfelt goodbyes that have been shared in the past week have absolutely blown us away. It has absolutely taken our breath away. So thank you - all of you. We will no doubt share lots of feelings with you over the next 24 hours as we feel all of the emotions so, for now, lets get serious and talk about tomorrow…
With our final day there is both good and bad news. The good news is that we are open tomorrow and we are going to be making sure the coffee machines are on for their last time, the counters are absolutly overflowing with yumminess and we will all be wearing our biggest smiles (and maybe some tears - be warned!)
The bad news is that today, because of your AMAZING and completely unpredictable amount of support we have essentially sold out of most of our macarons. As any of you know who have seen us making our macarons or who have done a macaron class, they are not something that can just be ‘whipped up’ over night. We have made literally thousands and thousands and thousands of them this week - our gorgeous staff have worked literally around the clock to keep the cabinets filled with our beautiful macarons but over the last 24 hours you have absolutely blown us away with your love and support. We quite literally couldn’t keep up… and so we have essentially sold out of macarons!
We will however wake up before anyone else in Brisbane tomorrow to ensure there is a huge and steady supply of your other Marché favourites... but if you visited the stores today you would know that there is lines going around the corner at both stores and we will undoubtably sell out of everything we make… which makes us very happy and feel very loved at this time!
TLDR… so although we may have sold out of some of our wonderful creations for our last day of trade we will still be here creating so much more Marche magic and we would SO LOVE to see you - you don’t even have to buy anything - we would love to just see you and give you a final hug before we close the doors for the last time at Marché du Macaron.
Ok now we are crying again. See ya tomorrow. Heck we love you all so much! x
Here is just a little snippet of what is in store today…. The kitchen has been working tirelessly to keep up with the amount of food we are having to make at the moment - your support has been amazing with lines our the door each day. We have made thousands of macarons this week so you’re pretty guaranteed to find heaps of your favourite flavours in store! And we will continue to make all of your favourite Marché treats right until the end! We can’t wait to see you all in store over the next couple of days for a final coffee, macaron and hug! 😢 💕 😘 x
Continuing our staff appreciation posts…
This is the wonderful Brooke, Megan and Kate… aka the amazing team who makes all the Marché magic happen behind the scenes!
Brooke has worked with us for two years… and she has been the brightest ray of sunshine in the kitchen in that time. She is an absolute pocket rocket… nothing is ever too hard for Brooke - she tackles even the most dreaded job (yes even making Marché magic there is jobs that we don’t love doing!) with absolute gusto and smashes it out. She has been such a positive little burst of energy into our lives and we can’t wait to see what she gets up to next… wherever she ends up is so VERY lucky to have her. We will miss both our silly jokes AND our deep and meaningful debates with you Brooklyn!
Megan has worked with us for four amazing years… there would not be a Marché without her. Trish actually made Megan’s wedding macarons in the very early days of Marché… and years later she applied for a job in the kitchen! Hundreds of thousands of macarons later, we don’t know how we ever managed without her! She is an absolute dynamite around the kitchen, bouncing from job to job making sure everything is getting done on time and done properly. She has become a close friend to all of us and we are just so lucky we have had the chance to work with her for so many years… and we know we will remain friends for years to come!
And finally we have the lovely Kate! Kate has been with us for only a short time but what a huge impact she has made in that time!!!! She was able to fit into the team immediately and very quickly became a very vital part of it!! Not only has she been an absolute blessing in the kitchen but if you’ve visited Ashgrove you may have been served by her at the front counter and have experienced how beautifully upbeat and kind she is! She’s able to make anyone feel welcome in the store with genuine kindness and enthusiasm that blows us away daily! She’s one of a kind and we are so lucky she has come in to our lives!
❤️
It’s our last week trading at Marché! Your last chance to come in and enjoy some Marché magic! 🌈 Although we are so, so sad that we are closing the doors to this wonderful business and extraordinary chapter of our lives, we are SO EXCITED to spend this last week with you! We have so much yummy food planned for the week (and weekend!) as well as THOUSANDS of macarons being filled over the next couple of days to make sure you can get your final little taste of Marché! 💕 Here is some information for our last week… opening hours, macaron flavours that will be in store throughout the week etc. 💗 Please remember that as we are SO incredibly busy in our final weeks, we aren’t taking any orders or holds. We love that so many of you are coming in to visit us in this final week but just a heads up that sometimes there will be a line and we may sell out of some things faster than we would like… but we will keep cooking until the last minute to make sure we can make this last week AMAZING! Love you all SO MUCH! x
Well today was maybe the busiest day Marché has ever experienced. Your support since we announced that we closing (on the 18th of September!) has been absolutely overwhelming and has brought us to tears (happy tears!) many times. We have had so many lovely comments online and gorgeous visits in store where we have been able to share wonderful memories. It’s all still a but surreal that this is our second last weekend that Marché will ever trade… but because of you we really are going out smiling, laughing and creating more food than ever! We are back open tomorrow from 8-12… be warned that we may be a bit under stocked on our macarons but we will absolutely make up for it with lots of other yummy food! Also, be prepared to wait at times… the line outside the stores was quite long and we thank you for your patience!!!! ❤️
Continuing our staff appreciation posts… this is Geneva and Raff… two of our wonderful super stars from Ashgrove.
We have watched Raff grow up over the past couple of years into one of the nicest and most hard working yet funny people we know. Raff is in grade 12 this year and always impresses us with his dedication to balancing work and school! We are lucky to have him come in on the weekends and if you’ve visited our Ashgrove store on Saturday or Sunday you’ve probably met him outside bringing your food out! He’s a great mate to have in the shop on the weekends and we will miss him lots and lots! We know whatever he chooses to do when he leaves school he will be amazing at it!

Geneva also works on the weekend with us and has done so for years now! Geneva is actually my cousin (Luke’s cousin) so she is lucky enough to be stuck with me forever (she might say that is unlucky!)… so even when Marché has closed its doors, Geneva can’t escape us!
Geneva is such a positive and hard working team member. The amount of washing up she is faced with every weekend is enough to make anyone want to drop the washing gloves and run but she handles it with a smile on her face!
It’s always great hearing all of her stories from the week and she’s my go to keep ‘relevant’ to the younger generation… I have learnt lots of fun new facts from Gen on our Saturday shifts together… and I’m sure I’ve had a lot of eye rolls behind my back for being ‘uncool’… but I’m cool with being uncool and that’s cool right? RIGHT?
Gen and Raff, you’re both super stars and we can’t thank you enough for being part of what makes Marché so special x
Today we are featuring two wonderful members of our Gordon Park store, Gail and Maddie!
Gail started working at Gordon Park over three years ago and we are so very lucky to have her as part of the team!! All of the regulars at Gordon Park absolutely love her always-beaming smile and her beautiful way of greeting each and every customer that steps through the doors! Gail shows us all what the face of customer service should be and we treasure her loyalty and love! All of the team, at both stores, absolutely adore Gail, shes such a generous, loving and special person - we are so lucky she came into our lives!
Maddie is actually the granddaughter of one of our much loved customers, Brian. He told Trish one day that he had treasured granddaughter that would be a great fit to the team and the rest is history! When Trish met Maddie she immediately decided Maddie was going to be a part of our family whether Maddie liked it or not! Thank goodness she decided to stick around! She’s is such a beautiful and vital part of the team - just ask any of us and we will sing her praises! And here’s another fun little bit of Marché history… swipe across to see a list of macarons Maddie wrote up when we first opened our Gordon Park store!! This was years and years before she worked with us - she wrote this list of flavours for us but was too shy to share it with us… luckily she found it recently and sent it to us… we cried a lot! She’s so very special to us!
We really couldn’t love Gail and Maddie more and we can’t wait to keep sharing more team memories with you! ♥️
We thank you so much again for your INCREDIBLE support this week!! We have been selling out of everything each day and our kitchen team is working huge hours to keep the stores as stocked as we can! So thank you for being so wonderful to us and making the last couple of weeks so memorable! We love you all!
See you all in the morning! x
Warning… sentimental staff appreciation post! In the coming weeks we want to share some of the faces that you have come to love and who have made Marché what it is today.
Today we are featuring these two lovely humans, Becca and Jackie, our wonderful assistant managers at Ashgrove!
Jackie has worked for Marché for over five years now - since we opened our Ashgrove store!! She has become part of what makes Marché so special. Her love for her job, her co workers and our customers is what makes Marché such a lovely place to work and to visit. Jackie first began as a kitchen assistant helping us keep the kitchen clean and running smoothly and very quickly transitioned into being a superstar in the front of house - smashing out some amazing coffees and always serving with a smiles. Jackie’s dedication to her work constantly blows us away. She is such a special part of the team and we know she will be our friend forever - we can’t picture life without her in it!
Becca is also another special, special person. They have worked for Marché for two years now but we can’t remember what it was like with out them. Always happy and so positive even when we are flat out, they are always such a little ray of sunshine in our day. Becca makes an amazing coffee - if you ever buy a coffee off them you’ll know that they have spent so much time making sure that you are going to have the best coffee you’ve ever had. They are so bloody amazing - yes they are great at what they do - but they are are just the nicest person you’ll meet. We have enjoyed so many deep chats over the two years they have worked with us and we know that Becca will continue to be such an important part of our lives.
💕
Both stores are open today and quickly filling with delicious foods! Be patient with us as we find our feet this week - you’ve blown us away with your support so we are going to double the amount of food we are making this week to ensure you get some final yummies!!! Please remember too we aren’t taking any more orders or holds just to keep it fair for everyone who visits us in store :)
X
THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts, for your lovely messages over the past 24 hours! 💕 We are working our way though reading them all (glass of wine in hand!) but we wanted to stop and say thank you for being so wonderful to us!
So about today… you absolutely blew us away with your support - we made so much yummy food and we still sold out so quickly! We of course will continue to make as many wonderful goodies as we can over the next two weeks but we have a sneaky suspicion we may continue to sell our daily 😳
To keep things fair for everyone who visits over the next two weeks and to ensure we can make sure we have lots of yummy food waiting for anyone who visits we are not going to be taking any more orders or holds. We wish we had more hours in the day and more ovens in the kitchen but our team will be working SO hard to make sure we have as many options as we can waiting for you when you visit! x
To our wonderful and much loved Marché family,
Firstly let me tell you all the that I know many businesses claim to have the most wonderful staff and customers, people who love, support and encourage them everyday… but I know that none come near to those who have loved, supported and encouraged Marché du Macaron over the past 11 years. It is that what makes this post so impossibly difficult to write.
It is with the saddest of hearts but also with the unwavering belief that we are doing the right thing that Bernard, Luke and I have to tell you all that we are closing the doors to Marché and our last day of trade will be Sunday the 18th September 2022.
Many of you know how difficult the past few years have been - it has for everyone, particularly those in hospitality - and that combined with overwhelming increase in the price of ingredients, with my ongoing health issues and the blessings of getting older we know the time has come to say goodbye.
I would like to take this opportunity to express our love to all of the staff we’ve had the privilege of working with both currently and over the years. We have loved you all and you know you are and always will be our family. What you’ve done for us and for Marché will be remembered forever!

To you, our beautiful customers, our friends, our Marché family… We will miss each and every one of you more than we could ever tell you. The friendships we have made will never ever be forgotten. Over the past 11 years you’ve seen us through so many highlights in our lives… You have been there to help us celebrate our weddings and milestone birthdays, shared our grief when family members or longtime customers have unfortunately passed away, celebrated holidays with us, been our support when the days seemed long and even witnessed the many dramas that could have been avoided had I learned to stay upright on two feet (If I never have to see the inside of a hospital again because of falling over my own feet it will be too soon!)
We will never take for granted the absolute privilege it has been sharing the absolute joy of everyday with you all. You have all changed our lives forever and we would not be the people we are today had we not met and loved you all.
We would love to see you before we close on the 18th but if you can’t make it in know you have our eternal gratitude for for your support and love over the past 11 years. For those who have any orders booked after this date we will be in touch over the coming to see if we can help find alternative arrangements for your needs.
We look forward to spending the next two weeks with you, eating macarons, drinking coffee and enjoying every minute.
Love Trish, Bernard and Luke and the whole Marché team x
Happy Father’s Day Bernard!!!! We love you! And happy Father’s Day to all of the wonderful fathers in our extended Marché family! We hope you had a wonderful day!! x
It’s Father’s Day THIS SUNDAY! We all know that the best way to dads heart is through his stomach so pop on in today or over the weekend and get dad a yummy box of macarons… he might even share with you!!! Happy Friday beautiful Marché family! x
Happy Wednesday beautiful Marché family. Just a quick note that Gordon Park is closed today but Ashgrove is OPEN as normal from 630-12! For those who haven’t visited our Ashgrove store before we are located at 54 Frasers Road, Ashgrove and we can’t wait to see you! x
