Let’s talk about Lash Shedding!

Lash shedding is a natural part of the hair growth cycle, and it’s completely normal for everyone to experience it. Your eyelashes, like the hair on your head, go through different phases of growth.

Growing - This is the active growth phase where your eyelashes are getting longer. It lasts for several weeks to a few months.

Transition- In this phase, the growth slows down, and the hair follicle starts to shrink.

Resting - Your lashes are not actively growing during this phase, but new lashes are starting to grow beneath them.

Shedding - Finally, the old lashes fall out naturally. This is the phase we refer to as lash shedding.
Why Does Lash Shedding Happen?

Lash shedding is a sign that your lashes are healthy and making room for new ones. Each individual lash is on its unique growth cycle, so it’s normal to lose a few lashes every day ✨🤍

Lash extensions DO NOT stick to dirty lashes!

Please ensure you are regularly cleansing your lash extensions with an approved cleanser to get the best results out of your lashes.

Watch Your Skincare Products: Using oil-based skincare can weaken the adhesive, causing your lashes to detach prematurely. Opt for oil-free cleansers and makeup removers to keep that bond strong.

Be Wary of Moisture: Excessive moisture, whether from steam, hot showers, or swimming, can compromise the adhesive bond. During the initial curing period, it's crucial to minimize exposure to these elements.

Hands Off!: Constantly rubbing or touching your eyes can lead to premature shedding. Practice gentle care and use a lash brush for maintenance instead of touching or pulling on the extensions.

Aftercare Matters: Proper aftercare is a game-changer. Say no to oil-based mascara, as it not only affects the adhesive but also makes cleaning more challenging. Use a designated lash cleanser to maintain cleanliness without compromising the bond.

Incorporating these tips into your routine can help you make the absolute most out of your extensions!

We are so excited to welcome Rochelle to our Lash Gold Studio team!

Having started as a client in October 2021, Rochelle‘s journey with us was elevated in June 2020, when she dove into the world of lash artistry, completing her classic course with flying colours

Rochelle then went on to do her volume up-skill course in August 2022.

But that’s not it! Rochelle’s passion for beauty continued to grow, and in May 2023, she expanded her skills by completing courses in brow styling, lash lifts, and brow lamination. Now equipped with a diverse skill set, Rochelle has perfected her talent and is excited to be offering these services at our salon ✨
