Our happy campers are having a whale of a time! 🐳 One lucky body boarding group got to see some whales breaching off the coast yesterday as they enjoyed their time in the surf. Last night’s dinner was beef stroganoff with apple crumble for dessert. 🥧 Perfect for a chilly winter’s night! This morning some very brave souls got up early to watch the sunrise. 🌅 Today they’re off doing giant swing, body boarding and team rescue activities. We’re sure they’ll sleep well tonight! 😴

Today at assembly we recognised our superstar students! We also celebrate our classes that receive Full House awards for 100% attendance in any given day - 5/6K have set the challenge! Today we also had a visit from Auskick talking about their program starting Thursday next week - notes have been sent home with relevant year levels.
5/6S is showing us how to meet our fortnightly Learning Culture focus! What a team!
Last Friday we held our first assembly for the term. We acknowledged our Shining Stars, those Magic Moments, our You’ve Been Spotted winners, along with those classes that received a Full House award! Each day that a class has 100% of their students at school they will receive a Full House award on assembly. The competition is fierce!
We were so honoured and incredibly humbled to see so many of our school community gather together to represent Bundamba State School and march in the Ipswich Memorial Service to honour the Anzac spirit. We stood tall and proud as we commemorated and remembered the sacrifice of the fallen! Thankyou to all of our families, students and staff who we able to join us! It was a proud moment for BSS!
We would love to see our Little Legends at next week's playgroup!

We are exceptionally fortunate to have a caring, dedicated and fun group of Teacher Aides at Bundamba State School. Our Story - Beginning of Bundamba SS
On 5 February 1873 a school was opened on the present site and named Bundanba State School. This name was taken from the Aboriginal name ‘Bundan’ meaning ‘place of good stone’. Three years later in 1876 the name was changed to Bundamba State School.
Nineteen children were enrolled as the first students in attendance but this soon grew to 68 students within a few years. The enrolment continued to increase over the years until today, where there are over 620 students at the school from prep to year 7.
Throughout the past decades floods and fire have contributed to the loss of the original heritage style buildings. However, under the Queensland Government’s State Schools of Tomorrow project and the Federal Government’s Building Education Revolution of 2009/10, the school has been rebuilt to exacting 21st century standards and now presents as a modern education facility.
