We made it through the Great Sandy Strait. Kicking back at the Sunset Bar at Kingfisher Bay Resort. Just saw our first whales from the jetty. They were circling a yacht at anchor.
Navigating the Great Sandy Strait is challenging. Sand bars everywhere. Sheraton flats is also very shallow. It gets the heart pumping 😃
What a sail. Lifted the anchor at 3:30 am. Arrived here at Double Island Point lagoon at 3:30 pm. Started off motoring as there was no wind but 2 hours after that it was sailing all the way until 2:30 pm when the wind began to die off. Gusts were something that needed monitoring and occasionally handled but all in all it was an exhilarating sail.
