Hi, we're Ausmed!
We are a leading provider of healthcare CPD and mandatory education.
ππ Celebrating International Day of the Midwife!
We want to honour the incredible midwives around the world who bring new life into our communities with compassion, expertise, and dedication. π€±πΆ
π Did you know? Midwives are responsible for delivering around 80% of all babies worldwide, playing a crucial role in reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.
π Research shows that midwifery care is associated with fewer interventions, less use of anesthesia, and more positive birth outcomes.
Thank you, midwives, for all that you do to ensure safe and empowering birthing experiences. π
Mandatory training has come a long way in the past decade. Reflecting on this, we asked some of the nurses at Ausmed about their past experiences with mandatory training. π
These sound familiar?
πΊ Today, on ANZAC Day, we pause to honour the brave souls who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. Among them stood the 2861 courageous women serving in the Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) whose dedication and compassion knew no bounds.
These nurses played a vital role not only in tending to the physical wounds of soldiers and civilians but also in providing comfort and solace amidst the chaos of war. From the shores of Gallipoli to the battlegrounds of Europe, their unwavering commitment and resilience shone brightly, earning them the admiration and gratitude of all who crossed their path. It was for this service that more than 80 Australian nurses were awarded with a Royal Red Cross.
As we reflect on this solemn day, let us remember their extraordinary contributions and the indelible mark they left on our nation's history. Their legacy continues to inspire future generations of nurses, reminding us of the profound impact compassion and courage can have, even in the face of adversity.
Today, we pay tribute to these remarkable individuals and express our deepest gratitude for their service and sacrifice. Lest we forget. π¦πΊποΈ

Nobody loves a critic, and we nurses can be so hard on ourselves, canβt we?
If a movie critic only talks about how much they hate everything they see, that would get pretty boring after a while.

Is Your Inner Nurse Critic in the Back Seat? | Ausmed When your inner nurse critic is constantly shouting at you from the back seat of your car, something has to change. The easiest solution is to simply hit the ejector seat button if you can, but if that fails, itβs time to talk back.

In nursing education, much ado is made about the role of critical thinking in the life and healthcare career of the nurse.
One characteristic very much related to critical thinking that is not widely discussed but holds great importance for nurses is curiosity.
