π’ Every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment to grow and thrive. Yet, the reality is that many children go without because of poverty. It's time for urgent action! Join us in calling on Governments state and federal to put the wellbeing of children first and legislate an end to child poverty once and for all. Together, we can build a brighter future for all our children.

Did you know that Carer Gateway, an Australian Government initiative for family carers in Australia, is also run through HelpingMinds? Currently, we provide support services under the Carer Gateway in the Great Southern, Wheatbelt, Broome, Port Hedland, Geraldton, South West, and Goldfields regions.
If you're interested in learning more about how Carer Gateway services can assist you, Carers WA are hosting a webinar for carers. The Carer Gateway webinar aims to provide an introduction to Carer Gateway by Carers WA and how it may help support you in your caring role.

Hip Hip Hooray it's our 48th Birthday! π
We are recognising 48 years since HelpingMinds began (known back then as ARAFMI).
Over the years, we have grown, learned, and made a significant impact in the community by offering comprehensive mental health services, education, and carer support throughout WA. This is only possible because of the dedication of our incredible team and the generous support of our donors. The anniversary is also a celebration of the relationships built over the years β with clients, supporters, partners, and the community.
These connections are integral to our success. To mark this special occasion, we have launched a Birthday Fundraiser to help us continue our mission of supporting individuals and families.

During NAIDOC Week, we not only celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples but also acknowledge the incredible contributions of our First Nations carers.
At HelpingMinds, we are proud of our dedicated carers who work tirelessly to support the mental health and well-being of our First Nations communities. Their compassion, resilience, and commitment embody the spirit of this year's theme, "Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud." π₯π€πβ€οΈ

Here are some self-care tips to help you not only introduce self-care into your day but also learn about the culture while participating.
Earlier this week our CEO, Deb Childs, had the honour of attending a significant announcement at Parliament House in Canberra, the launch of two new national peak bodies.
1. National Peak Body for Consumers - established by the Consumer Alliance.
2. National Peak Body for Carers, Families, and Supporters - established by Mental Health Carers Australia.
Assistant Minister Emma McBride announced the successful grant applicants, underscoring the national importance and support for these initiatives.
This momentous occasion is the culmination of years of dedicated advocacy by numerous organisations, including HelpingMinds. These new bodies will play a crucial role in representing and amplifying the voices of consumers, carers, and their families, ensuring their needs and perspectives are central to national policy and service development.
Yesterday was truly historic, and we're proud of the collaborative efforts that led to this milestone. Let's continue to support and engage with these peak bodies as they begin their vital work.

Check out these beautiful sand mandala creations from our Expressive Therapies workshop! During the session, we explored themes of Love, Gratitude, and Loss.
In our workshop, we created a small-scale version of a mandala, inspired by the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. These intricate designs, made with colored sand, can take days or even weeks to complete. Once finished, the mandalas are ceremonially destroyed to symbolise the impermanence of all things, serving as a mindfulness exercise in the art of letting go.
