🌿 Exciting Update: Green Cleaning Workshop Recap!

This past Sunday, I had the incredible opportunity to host a Green Cleaning Workshop as part of the Hume Enviro Champs in Sunbury.

Despite feeling under the weather and a bit nervous, I powered through with the help of some cold and flu tablets, and I’m so glad I did!

The sense of community was truly inspiring. It was amazing to meet so many passionate individuals eager to learn about sustainable cleaning practices. The enthusiasm made the day special, and I’m grateful for the support from everyone who attended.

As I reflect on the workshop, I see areas for improvement and I'm already brainstorming for the next one.

I need to swallow my pride to show you these before images ☺️☺️🙈 but it does prove that handmade natural products do work!

There was no chlorine bleach involved - just true cleaning with the laundry butter multi purpose paste and supercharged with percarbonate.

I do have a video coming soon as I have a few tricks and tools and methods!

I did one wall using the paste in a squeeze bottle and a grout brush….The other wall I super-charged the paste in a bucket and pulled out the big gun scrub brush.

Time to deep clean the bathroom and for that I pretty much use the “laundry butter” multi purpose paste recipe on my website

I have put some in a sauce squeeze bottle as today I’ll be tackling grout!

Here is the link to the recipe; it’s so simple it was literally made in that jar by adding boiling water. Like making a cuppa!

Ps the yellowing in the pic below is the lemon essential oil I added - so not only do I avoid toxic fumes I get a beautiful smell while cleaning.

Ok I think the new amber glass jars are stunning and they are in!!

Now I had a good hard think about if I should ditch the Apothecary jars and just have the one option - but I just can’t.

They were born with Under Your Sink and will die with Under Your Sink 🤪 Apo you’re here to stay baby!!

I’m not sure if you know but I hand pack every ingredient and handmade product (like the laundry washing powder) at time of order.

I can put it anything you like!! And that is what I shall do.

Give me some time to load everything up on the website in a simple effective manner and I’ll keep you posted here on progress.

Just a little update, xanthan gum jars have changed slightly. No big deal, same size, same ingredient - just shorter, wider and cuter jars!

I know it’s only trivial, but I like to share these things in case you’re expecting one thing and another arrives.

Ps : xanthan gum is a natural thickening agent for water based products. With this you can turn vinegar into a gel and same with DIY hand/dish/body wash!

Handy to have, one little jar like this should last ages. I typically use 1/2 teaspoon to thicken a 500ml solution, just a mere couple grams.

Pro tip: mix with glycerine for a lump free emulsion

My husband makes the best roast potato on earth! Ok, he is a Chef and Irish, but he has a method.

This is how to make your own dishwasher powder. It's quick, easy and effective - not to mention super cheap!

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup (250g) Washing soda
- 1 cup (250g) Sodium Percarbonate
- 1 tablespoon Coconut Soap Flakes (optional)

MAKES
500g which is approx. 20 loads

INSTRUCTIONS
Simply mix the powder ingredients taking care not the breathe in any raised particles.
Transfer to and store in an airtight container.

HOW TO USE
Add 1 tablespoon (25g) directly in the detergent compartment of your dishwasher.
