This will be our last takeaway menu and the end of our meal delivery service. We've been honoured to cook for you each week and humbled by the feedback you have given us. It was our aim to offer a range of delicious and nutritious meals sourced from sustainable ingredients, and have been thrilled that so many of you have shared that journey with us.
But it's not the end! We are excited to announce that Spoonful and our event management partners, Prunella, will be working together on a new venture to cater for weddings, parties and other events. It's been such a long cold winter! At our little farm in Kyneton we have never had so many frosts. The tender plants hate it, but the winter vegetables are loving it, particularly the cabbages, broccoli and brussel sprouts. The cold seems to intensify their sweetness and improve their texture.

These long cold days need warming food and this week we have collected together some of our most hearty meals for you: Minestrone Soup, Fish Pie, Pork and Fennel Lasagne and Bolognese Sauce are just a few on today's menu.

Fish For Dinner?
As the globe warms and the need to limit our greenhouse gas emissions becomes urgent we are becoming increasingly aware of the need to adopt sustainable farming practices. Meat, in particular, is contributing significantly to gas emissions as well as contributing to deforestation, habitat loss, and a reduction in biodiversity. As a result more and more of us are turning to fish as a sustainable source of protein.
Sustainable fishing practices and responsible aquaculture can contribute to less environmental impact, especially when compared to resource-intensive beef production. But not all fish farming is sustainable or free of deleterious practices. As more than 60% of all fish sold in Australia is imported, it is increasingly difficult to know what we are eating. The Australian Goodfish initiative promotes the introduction of labelling that tells us what species of fish we are buying, its origin and whether it was harvested by hook, net or cage.
One source of sustainable farmed fish is the Ora King salmon, grown in the fast flowing sea waters of the Marlborough Sounds in New Zealand. This week's menu features a filet of Ora King salmon and a puy lentil salad with a sauce vierge. Lots of other delicious meals to enjoy at the end of a cold winter's day too.

Italian! The appreciation for good food and the art of cooking is deeply ingrained in Italian culture. And our menus are littered with Italian place names that evoke dishes that have now become part of our culture too. Rome, Bologna, Naples, Milan, Palma and Florence to name a few.

This week's menu celebrates some of those classic dishes: Gnocchi alla Romana, Bolognese Sauce and Tuscan Meatballs.
