Every second week at our level 3+ training session, we hold a training scrim and invite our developing skaters to join, to help our refs and players get a better understanding of the rules of roller derby and let our learning WARDies get a taste of derby! We've found this is a great way for our level 2 skaters to become more comfortable with gameplay and gain a better understanding of the rules, and helps our team of officials grow their knowledge so they can become the best refs they can be! 💪 Keen on becoming part of WARD? We welcome skaters of any experience level (including zero!) to learn to play or ref with us, and have a bunch of off-skates positions to learn too. Our level 3s and 4s played some basketball on skates at a training session last week! This was great to practice speed control, agility, and skating in close proximity to others.
