OUT OF OFFICE (again ❤️) - After our incredible trip to Canada and about 38 hours at home I’ve returned to Melbourne airport and I’m waiting for a flight to take me back to paradise 🌴. This time I’ve left my computer (and family) at home as I head to Bali for another .work.wives .wives retreat at I will be immersing myself in yoga, sound bowl healing, spa visits, lounging by the pool, and enjoying the beautiful, nourishing farm to table food. Most importantly though I’m looking forward to enhancing connections, making some new ones and taking some time for me. All to help me come back rested, refreshed and reenergised ahead of the 2024/2025 wedding season ❤️

LITTLE PEOPLE - Mercia and Daniel knew they wanted their kids involved in the ceremony and they nearly stole the show! Their eldest son came forward with the rings when it was time to exchange them and then pronounced them as “husband and wife”! Their gorgeous twins then said “Daddy kiss Mummy” ❤️ it was the absolute cutest!

LAURA + LACHY - Laura had decided she’d had enough of dating apps and had decided she was going to delete them all for good! She went to bed, with the intention to delete them the following morning. However, when she woke the next morning, she noticed she had matched with Lachy ❤️ Laura’s profile said, “the way to win me over is with a coffee and a croissant”, so Lachy’s opening line to her was that he knew a good place to get a croissant. After 2 weeks of chatting they met at the cafe with the epic croissants 🥐 and hit it off straight away. They learned a lot about each other and they also learned that croissants aren’t exactly the best first date food; they both tried to eat them as delicately as possible 😂

My husband (Woo!) and I found Beck online and from day 1 she was able help us craft the ceremony that suited us- Both of us are at times a little indecisive but she was even able to work with us :), Beck is very caring, kind, patient and took the time to hear our story and get to know us as a couple. She built a “couples questionnaire” and built a beautiful meeting story for our ceremony which made our hearts flutter. She was happy to incorporate our traditions (Maori/NZ customs). Beck provides guidance on the “compulsory”, the “variable” and has info on how to add special touches (eg how to include mothers/ Choose signatories/games etc). Beck would set tasks/goals over the months leading up to the big day and Skyped us close to the day also. If you’re looking for a celebrant with heart but also flexible and modern then Beck is what you’re after!”

RYLAN + CHELSEA - What a day!!! These two had their wedding at it was hot 🔥 but they were prepared with a plan b location in the shade (and it was stunning!), bottles of cold water and fans for their guests. They kept their love story part of the ceremony as a surprise and I LOVED seeing their reactions as they heard me share it with their loved ones ❤️ After their vows they sealed their vow cards in a wine box with a bottle of The Gurdies Pinot noir and on their 1st anniversary they will open the box, reread their vows and enjoy the wine 🍷

SIGNING AFTER THE CEREMONY - This is becoming very popular and out of the last 10 weddings I’ve done, 9 couples have signed afterwards. Why? Well TBH the signing of the documents is a total vibe killer. Most guests think of it as the boring part of the ceremony where the guests talk amongst themselves and there is a song that’s played. We don’t have to sign during the ceremony and in fact it’s much more relaxed to grab a glass of bubbles with your witnesses and let your guests head to the bar! It also means your guests are pumped after you’ve been pronounced married, kissed and then introduced for the first time as a married couple, the vibe stays high 🙌🙌

JO + STEPH - This is one of my all time favourite photos and two of my favourite people! Captured by it didn’t matter that it rained, that Steph’s dress was no longer white, even that there were people around them. All that mattered was the love and passion they have for each another. This is what it’s all about ❤️❤️

Ge, a wedding photographer with a heart of gold who brightened every room she entered. Her infectious charisma and warmth made her not just a photographer but a friend. Being a wedding photographer isn't just about the camera and capturing that perfect shot; it's about making couples feel at ease, allowing their love and personalities to shine through. Ge excelled in this and with Ze by her side, the two of them made the ultimate team. She was always up for a drink, a laugh and was never shy of an emoji 🙏❤️💋

Ge has devastatingly passed away after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. My heartfelt condolences go out to Ze, Ge's wife Lauren, and her family and friends.

AMY + PAUL - These two have the most beautiful love story. They originally met in the year 2000 while working at STA Travel in Southland. Paul was the branch Manager and Amy the 2IC. They were friends who joked around and had amazing banter. They went their separate ways and created different lives. They got married and both had 2 boys. The marriages didn’t work out and Paul’s boys encouraged their Dad to get a Snapchat account. Paul had no idea what he was doing and accidentally sent everyone in his contacts a random message saying he had started a Snapchat account. Amy was one of about 3 people who replied. They reconnected and sparks flew. Today they are married and have a house full of love with their 4 boys 💙

This wedding was incredibly special for me as I met Amy in 2002 when we worked together in London. To see her have such happiness and love in her life is indescribable. Thank you both for sharing your special day and your hearts with me xx

MC anyone?! Sure you could get your Uncle Phil to do this job but honestly it is a lot to ask of a guest who most likely just wants to sit back, have a few drinks and soak up your love fest! Here are a few of the things I will do as your MC:

⭐️liaise with the kitchen/venue about timings for food
⭐️ensure your photographers/videographers are ready before speeches are introduced
⭐️announce and introduce all of the formalities and let your guests know what’s happening next
⭐️keep reminding guests about your Photo Booth/guest book etc
⭐️create a run sheet and a script for your reception
⭐️most importantly, you’ll know “I’ve got it” so you can just enjoy yourselves

SPRING - It’s here!! I love Spring, everything feels so fresh and new, the flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping, longer and warmer days are ahead of us.

I kicked off my wedding season on Saturday by marrying Ash + Dave and I’m now looking forward to all of the beautiful weddings coming up in the next few months. Last wedding season was awesome but also crazy! I did double the amount of weddings I’d ever done in a season and at times I felt out of control on the inside (always calm and collected on the outside though!) Going into this season feels different. I’m trying to have a more balanced wheel, thanks to .work.wives and I’m reminding myself to Stay Human and do things that make my soul shine ❤️ ❤️ So take this as a sign to stop, breathe deeply and do something that brings you joy. Also, it’s time to stock up on antihistamines 🤧😂

We both knew we didn’t want a cheesy over the top celebrant who assumed a same s*x wedding was all rainbows and flags so we knew after the first meeting Beck was for us.

DOCUMENT SIGNING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE BORING! A lot of my couples are choosing to sign their documents after the ceremony has finished - we’ll grab a glass of bubbles, their witnesses and sign the paperwork. This is relaxed and doesn’t kill the vibe of the ceremony - I’m a big fan! But, if you want to do it during your ceremony, make it a feature - have some very special loved ones like parents, Grandparents, siblings or other special people as your witnesses. OR, do a lucky dip like Leigh + Rachael did! It will keep your guests engaged and will keep the vibes high! I couldn’t believe it that Leigh had picked his Mum!!! (I’m still unsure if it was a set up or not but swipe ➡️ to see my reaction)

💍 LITTLE RING HELPERS - A lot of my couples these days are choosing to not have a wedding party standing next to them during the ceremony. Some of them worry that by not having a Best Man to handle the rings may be an issue. It’s the opposite!! It means you can include a special person or people in your ceremony! Some couples may choose a parent or a sibling or someone else. I loved that Jessica + Marco’s nieces came forward with their rings! It added a real heartfelt moment to their ceremony and it will be something those little girls will remember forever ❤️

❤️LOVE LETTER❤️ “If Beck isnt available to be your celebrant on your chosen wedding date, change it.... its that simple. She is so easy to talk to and made planning our ceremony so simple, yet made sure it was exactly what we wanted. She also provided us with ideas to included things we didnt even know were possible. The end result was a wedding ceremony that was exactly us. We have four boys aged from 11 through to 20 that we wanted to be part of the special day, and Beck came up with so many ways to make that happen. SARAH + BRADEN - What an epic couple these two are!!! I knew from our very first chat these two would be a lot of fun!

It all started in the year 2013 when a handsome young man with an epic sneaker collection walked into a ten-pin
bowling tournament in Perth. Little did he know his life would be forever changed when his path would cross with a One Directioner with the most
incredible pins he’d ever seen. They battled through a long distance relationship and some really tough times, to becoming fur parents to their little guy, Turk to finally becoming Husband and Wife.

They put together an absolutely stellar crew of suppliers and they had asked me to stay on to MC their reception and I loved getting to hang out for the entire day and night!!

Day 5 of post a day challenge - Fave or dream venue

I’m lucky to work at some absolutely incredible venues and found it difficult to choose just one so I narrowed it down to Mornington Peninsula venues which I’ve worked at multiple times in 2023 and is the clear winner!

What makes it my fave? The people! Amy, Ali and the team absolutely nail the organisation and they are fun, we always have a laugh! They are masters at coordinating the processional and the confetti toss at the end so couples get that perfect, epic shot in front of the barn doors!

Dromana Estate has beautiful indoor and outdoor options which is a must for all couples getting married in Melbourne! Entering the reception area is breathtaking. Wine barrels on one end and the roof is entirely covered in fairy lights. It’s dreamy and romantic and I love nothing more than watching guests’ reactions as they walk in and see it for the first time. I also love that it’s pretty close to home for me 🥰 I can’t wait until my next wedding there!

Day 3 - Who do I live with?

My 9 year old Havanese, Jasper. My favourite things about him are his awesome underbite and the way he tilts his head when I say his favourite words. If I’ve had a zoom with you, you’ve most likely met him, he loves interrupting my work calls 😂

I also have some human housemates, AKA my family. My hubby Ben who always makes me laugh, supports my wild and crazy ideas and has complete, unconditional love for me 🥰 He has recently left his day job to solely work on our travel business so if you have any travel needs please hit us up! and our little people: Hudson, our very clever, sports mad, 8 year old and Toby, age 5, who melts hearts with his sweetness and is headstrong and determined!

I also live with Frida, my fiddle leaf fig. Roger, my rubber tree and Maxine my monstera. Frida is pretty finicky and slow but Roger and Maxine are pretty easy going housemates 😂

Day 2 - Where is home to me?

I have lived in many different places. Auckland, Vancouver, London, the French Alps and Melbourne. For me, home isn’t a place, it’s people….my family ❤️ So all of these places are home to me as long as I have my people with me 🥰

Hi 👋 it’s me! I have been enjoying some down time after a crazy and incredible wedding season! I thought I’d get back on the socials to share some of the beautiful weddings I’ve been involved in and to welcome my couples! is doing a daily photo challenge for the month of June and I’m all in! To start it off…..

Who am I….?

I’m Beck (please don’t forget the k 😬) I’m a kiwi born Canadian and I’ve been living in Melbourne for almost 18 years. I’ve been hitching lovers for 7.5 years and I honestly can’t believe I get to do what I do!

⭐️I’m a true crime podcast ju**ie who can’t wait for Saturdays when a new is released.

⭐️I was a competitive swimmer, figure skater and curler in my younger years and now I’m a footy and cricket Mum 🏏

⭐️Grunge music is everything to me. Sound garden, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice, STP etc. It sets my soul on fire and is always top of my playlists!

⭐️I love camping but only in Canada. The Australian bugs and creepy crawlies freak me out. I’ll take bears over snakes 🐻 any day! (Just have to remember to tie the cooler/eskie in the tree before sleep time).

⭐️My drink of choice is usually gin or a nice Chardonnay- this is fairly new for me but my kiwi couzies have convinced me a smooth Chardy is way better than a kiwi sav, and I’m starting to agree!
