Last week you invited us to join in the celebration of International Women Day, which we really appreciated.
The day was spectacular with the Banatjarl women. Spending time with the ladies really made my day.
The whole time I was in your space, the vibe I felt was positivity.
The ladies were fantastic full of joy, laughter and so much positivity. It was like watching a TV show about sisterhood.
To me your space is COMFORT, like a big hug or a warm blanket.
I thank you ladies for making me feel that way and letting me be a part of your sisterhood.

International Womens Day 2024! What a celebration of powerful Ngalmuka. Over 80 women participated in our Banatjarl wimun celebration throughout the day. From Yarning Circles, to deep sharing and community consultation, meeting inspiration leaders and spending time together. Then meeting our incredible community of Katherine for the march across the bridge.

Friday's is WEAVING DAY at the Banatjarl office in Katherine.
Getting out of town and going out on country. Collecting plants that we use for colour and fibre in preparation for weaving workshops. This is important women's work and our master weavers are focused on passing on this knowledge at all costs! The weaving work is very important and brings good feelings, calm minds and wellbeing. Banatjarl Wimun Cultural Facilitators spending time with the wonderful team of health professionals at Oodles Therapy in our delivery of Cultural Induction, Mentoring and Practicing Cultural Safety in our communities.
Our Family Support Team works closely with Oodles in delivery of NDIS support for Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and other allied health services.
A great team supporting our families and children.

Welcoming in the new year by getting out to the Banatjarl Healing Place. Country is Medicine, a good way to start is when we are visiting the old people on Jawoyn Homeland, sitting down on country and listening to the still and quiet, feeling that wind come up and then laughing and telling story, weaving and being together.
