Printed in Hawaii!!! This hibiscus design is simply divine 🌺 You can see the beautiful weave of fabric when the light is turned on….💡It is a "cotton dobby", which is very similar to traditional "barkcloth". I’m always happy to custom make, if you need different shape and size.

FOR SALE - from my personal collection✨
Barsony FL1 figurine table lamp

I have custom made her a red lampshade with yellow satin ribbon to match her bikini 👙 and she also has some electrical upgrade. I know that some collectors would prefer a traditional plastic ribbon lampshade, hence the flexibility of purchasing her with or without the lampshade 💛❤️

If you don’t know anything about this lamp or the maker, here is a brief 🙂

~~~BARSONY~~~
George Barsony came to Sydney as a refugee in 1949 (from Hungary) and shortly after, met his future wife Jean, an immigrant (from England) who worked in a Sydney pottery.
They moved to a home in Bankstown in 1955 and opened a small workshop that eventually became Barsony Ceramics.
The company operated during 1950s to 1970s. Most of Barsony Ceramics were decorative items such as figurines, lamp bases, candlesticks, vases , wall hangings and bookends.
In the 1950s , exotic black figures became popular, contrasting with the typical pastel colours at the time. But as times changed, so did tastes. Black figures declined in popularity, so Barsony Ceramics ceased operations in the 1970s.
These exquisite lamps have seen a resurgence in popularity in recent years. Barsony black lady lamps are known for their soft rounded edges, rounded breasts and bright red lips. The figures are contrasted by splashes of colour on their clothing and accessories.
Each piece was hand painted, making each piece unique.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” - Lewis Carroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
Another West German pottery lamp! 😍 This one here is by Walter Gerhards and I’m thinking a plain orange lampshade 🧡
Walter Gerhards was founded in 1959 in Ransbach-Baumbach Germany by Walter Gerhards and his wife Elfriede Gerhards. Their production was focused on ceramic plant pots but later switched to ornamental lighting and other decorative ceramics. A large range of decorative items were produced, including light fixtures, vases and plates etc. Ceramic lights (standing or hanging) were supplied to lighting companies who completed the electrical components.
The « Silver Princess » also called Caesia.
A mallee eucalyptus, native to WA; she has a minni ritchi bark and white waxy branchettes and greyish green leaves. She always stands out in the bush and is by far the prettiest 😍
“I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best.”- Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo grew up in the Coyoacán neighborhood of Mexico City. She had a mixed heritage: her father was German and her mother was Spanish and Indigenous Tehuana from Oaxaca, Mexico. Kahlo consciously constructed a mestiza persona, pairing Spanish colonial jewelry with traditional huipil blouses or Chanel haute couture with her Indigenous jade necklace. She created a blended identity, simultaneously appropriating and reclaiming her cultures
