Oil from cooking was splashing to the spice rack on the right and the bottle rack on the top left, so I created full length splash guards reusing packaging from Amazon and wrapped in aluminium foil. The attachment mounts were 3D printed. The top mount magnetically attaches to the rangehood.

I recently installed a sliding door in the main bedroom to ensuite.
I designed a door handle and lock combination.

Features: Magnetic hold in the open position and lock status indicator. The lock also pulls the door towards it reducing movement.

I have included the step files as dimensions of each system will vary depending on the set up.

3D Printed items from my son's 1st birthday party.

On the back end of Easter and Rabbit themed party, items included:
1. Creality Rabbit, 2. Spiral Egg by JamesThePrinter - both were Easter egg hunt surprise item.
3. Cute bunny bowl by AndrzejG - used to hold lollies & chocolate.
4. Dragon Egg by Tony Youngblood - a prize for a Quiz, containing chocolate.
5. Kendama by strshp - Kendama is a Japanese skill toy with a ball and cups, challenging players to catch the ball on cups and spikes. I remixed this design with a pokeball as the ball. This was a competition with the guests with each coloured cup scoring points and the winner winning the Kendama as the prize.

Note: the word Samuel and the vegetables were not 3D printed and was part of a cake - made with fondant - no layer lines :)

A gift idea, a hybrid design which is a line art of my wife that incorporates a circular lithophane insert of an ultrasound picture of my son.

A fully 3d printed scale model of a Geodesic Dome structure. This structure has been used in playgrounds, greenhouses and even residential properties. I would like to explore this design more in the future.

As a fully custom installation can be expensive and time consuming, I purchased Temple & Webster chest drawers. A quick 3D model was put into place, materials and colours applied and finally a render was created.

It is starting to take shape. The next step is to assemble the drawers and then judge how much the shelf position has to be adjusted up.

Wardrobe Renovation - a request from wifey

Problem identification - the wardrobe that came with our new home (2018) is basic. As it only has clothes hanging by two bars, we had to add inserts for clothes and delicates that are folded. It has also exceeded capacity where clothes are starting to pile up on the floor. This is also a fully open design so dust can gather on our clothes. Finally the clothes on the right hand corner is difficult to access.

Ideas - an idea comes from the mind, visualising how the current wardrobe is being used and it’s shortcomings as well as opportunities and how better to utilise the given space. This calls for 3 dimensional thinking - vertical, horizontal, depth.

Concept - a concept is translating your idea on paper or an iPad in my case. Using digital tools has truly accelerated the development process. I almost always take the photo of the current situation then overlay my concept using mark up. Always draw on inspiration from others (google images, Pinterest) - Toyota calls it yokonarabi or benchmarking. This allows you to see what kind of functionality you are after and what is possible. Once a concept is finished you can use this image to discuss with your client (wife) about her opinions and feedback. Once agreed we can do actual measurements to make any adjustments then proceed to create a quick 3D model of the design.

Rotary Counter Dial / K**b

Print in place 11 position counter. Initially designed to count number of cups of water consumed but I hope it can be adapted for many uses.

3D Printing x Birthday Cake Topper / Toy to play with.

A design request from a mother on 3D printing fb page. This is a 3D printed bridge which is breakable in the middle for a cake decoration piece for her son's 13th b'day where Godzilla is destroying it. The cake was designed and made by the mother. It can then be used as a toy to play with. Happy to hear feedback that he loves it so much.

I replicated the bridge design based off a reference image, printed in a PLA fire engine red by eSun. Total print time was about 20hrs including supports.

3D Printing x Soap making

The name on soaps are either stamped (with interchangable name inserts) or molded in using 3D printed parts in PLA. Depth is 2mm.

Molded ones are sharper but has some air bubbles. Stamped ones leave an outline due to excess soap being pushed out.

Last image shows a trial of a soap molded in a curved oval shape. The plug was 3D printed, soap portion was filled with wood filler then sanded, then a mold was created using 2 part silicone. Finally the mold was filled with castile soap bar mix.

This 3D printed switch game storage unit in the shape of DK barrel holds upto 60 games. The two halves are held together by neodymium magnets in three locations. Barrel body printed in brown, barrel straps in black, logo in red and yellow. . . .

Project Shikaku was an idea that came to mind over 5 years ago and the first concept visualised last year. This is a future project which may or may not see the light of day, but I hope it will within my life time!

Did you know that our bones aren’t solid? Same as 3D printing, you can adjust the amount of material inside to reduce material usage whilst maintaining good strength.

Another part designed for my friend. A replacement perfume bottle lid with a surprising feature. Self righting! Secret was embedding a bearing mid way through the print.
