Happy holidays!
What an honour and a privilege. I have worn this iconic Australian brands boots since I was 18. It was shortly after my brother passed away that our family went back to our home town of Adelaide for some family time when my parents took me to an outfitter by the name of Trims. I have worn RM Williams boots ever since. I have also loved and played rugby union, so when the opportunity arose to work on a special project to combine these two loves it was incredibly special. In total 88 balls were hand stitched with no less than 19448 stitches. Just over a kilometre of thread, stitched by hand in 4mm increments. My brother was a keen rugby player and the one who first taught me how to hand stitch leather, he was also a major fan of RM Williams. His jaw would have no doubt hit the floor to hear about this latest project. And to top it off, a promotional photo shoot with my handmade rugby balls being passed around by my childhood Wallaby hero’s, , Nick Farr-Jones, Mark Ella, George Smith, Stirling Mortlock and Steve Waugh.
I would like to say a huge thank you to RM Williams and the head of special projects .
Now to rest the hands while on holiday back in South Australia, dragging our 70’s caravan to the Eyre Pen*sula.
One of the most satisfying products to make.

Thrilled with how this collaboration with the incredible turned out, and perfect timing with spring now in full swing.
The brief was slightly unusual, I wanted to create an Art Deco style pattern with the Australian native Callistemon or “Bottlebrush” for the subject matter. Typically flora was the main subject used in the Art Nouveau period (preceding Art Deco), showcasing ornate flowing organic lines, however I wanted to have the bottle brush highly stylised and reduced to geometric shapes, allowing the design to be hidden in plain sight.
Now I just have to wait for mine to flower in my front yard.
Special edition. Give em hell!
Been a while between post! Home schooling definitely presents challenges with studio time. Very excited to see this combination finally come together, perfect for spring. More pics to come.
