Mindfulness Yoga with TsU

Bringing a sense of calm to all children through Mindfulness Yoga. Mindfulness Yoga with TsU brings Mindfulness Yoga to all children.

We are passionate about working with children, parents and teachers to create positive environments where self-discovery, communication and awareness are central. We provide our students with the opportunity to learn valuable skills that they can use whilst at school and beyond their school day.

C o l o u r e d R i c e

We love using coloured rice for mi dful activities and calming play. I made this myself with 3 easy steps.

You need:
- rice
- vinegar
- food colouring
- essential oil (optional)

1. Separate the rice into different bowls and add food colouring. I used gloves to mix it in with my hands and not get stained!
2. Add 1-2 tsp of vinegar to the rice after mixing in food colouring as this ensures the colouring doesn't rub off.
3. Place on trays and allow to dry.

Optional to add essential oils after to make it smell lovely!

Working with a partner guring yoga is a great way to build listening skills and understanding for others.

Making sure your partner is comfortable and supported during poses is so important.

Sensory play is a great way to encourage mindfulness. This activity encouraged focus and was so calming for my little one.

E y e M a s k s

When you book for vacation care you have th opportunity to make eye masks.

These were made by students at East Torrens Primary School and they did an amazing job!

Eye masks can elevate yoga practice to allow kids to block out external influences and also soak in the relaxing lavender scent.

M a n d a l a

Today we used to have a mindful moment. We made a mandala together and talked about the different colours of the tiles.

It was the perfect way to engage my toddler in a little bit of mindfulness this Monday.

Who else still needs this reminder?

Some days sitting to meditate feels like the last thing I have time for and yet that is probably the best time.
I am constanstantly reminding myself that it's not about clearing everything out and not thinking.

Sometimes it is just getting to know your mind and bringing kindness and acceptance to it to begin to understand.

A moment of stillness.

I think this has to be one of my favourite things in the world. Seeing kids find that quiet space when meditating in our classes is so rewarding.

It's even better when they notice the difference within themselves!
