THRIVE Zambia 17/03/2024

In 2012, amidst the challenges and heaviness in my heart, I found the courage to embark on a journey to UGANDA with The Hunger Project. Little did I anticipate the profound transformation awaiting me, filling my spirit with newfound joy and revealing the essence of true leadership, despite my decades of experience in executive roles.

Though I initially went to offer my assistance as the Vic Chair, it was I who was profoundly touched and uplifted by the experience.

The remarkable women and men I encountered left an everlasting imprint on my soul, cultivating deep and enduring friendships and igniting a daily reflection on their extraordinary influence.

As The Hunger project prepares for its upcoming expedition to Zambia,
I extend a heartfelt invitation for you to join this voyage to being of service and of self-discovery, to challenge yourself, and to uncover the depths of genuine leadership.
If this resonates with you, please reach out to me to explore further into my journey with The Hunger Project. Together, let's embrace the adventure that awaits with open hearts โค๏ธ

Proud to be invited as a mentor at Brooker Consulting Mentorship Link Program.
Thank you DrRachel Ca - PhD (Medicine), MAICD, for the opportunity to mentor the next generation of incredible leaders.

There are participants from every state in Australia (no territories this time) and the South Island of New Zealand participating in a novel life sciences AusNZ program. The program is designed to elevate leadership within the sector.

Australia's fast-growing life science sector is one of the largest in the southern hemisphere. It is worth in excess of $250 billion and is home to more than 2,600 organisations. There has been 40% growth in this sector in the last 2 years.

This fast-paced growth has resulted in skills gaps being identified. There is now an urgent need to nurture and retain local talent in the life sciences sector.

Brooker Consulting have developed this program to bring together experienced, proven leaders and link them to the next generation of emerging talent.
It was a fabulous kick off event.

"Generosity in Action: She Literally Gave Me the Shirt off Her Back

At our Richard Branson event in Melbourne, (more to come on that ) I had the pleasure of meeting Tara, the incredible founder of proudpoppyclothing .(she was one of the sponsors ) Her fashion label is all about inclusivity and affordable style for women from size 6 to 24.

I fell in love with one of her amazing jackets that one of her gorgeous girls was wearing. sadly, it was sold out in my size. (You can see WHY) But guess what? Tara and her team surprised me at the end of the event and gifted me the jacket! ๐Ÿงฅ๐Ÿ’– Talk about an incredible act of kindness and love!

Despite facing doubt from others, Tara pursued her dream with Proud Poppy and proved them wrong by turning it into a major success. I'm beyond excited to ROCK my new jacket and support Tara's amazing brand. Let's celebrate her and spread the word about Proud Poppy's fabulous designs!

In 2007, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention issued an AUTISM alarm, estimating that one in 150 children may be affected by autism spectrum disorder. AUTISM has been treated mainly with technical approaches: principally applied behaviour analysis and psychopharmacology.

The findings in this book implicate OXIDATIVE STRESS as a common feature in AUTISM, and support the claim that OXIDATIVE STRESS and intracellular redox imbalance can be induced or triggered in autism by exposure to certain environmental agents. Such findings could point the way to new treatment approaches in AUTISM.

AUTISM: OXIDATIVE STRESS, Inflammation, and Immune Abnormalities brings together a wealth of cutting-edge evidence that is already influencing how we treat this serious condition. It looks at the role of neuropathological abnormalities, genetics, and those factors common to OXIDATIVE STRESS such as inflammation, immune dysfunction, aberrant cellular signalling, and gene-environment interactions.

Among dozens of research topics, this volume:

Looks at interactions between genetic and environmental factors such as the maternal immune environment and prenatal/postnatal environmental stressors.

Summarises evidence for oxidative damage and inflammation in AUTISM.

Introduces a PDD behaviour inventory as a tool for assessing AUTISM.

Considers AUTISM as an aberrant adaptive response to neuro-inflammation and OXIDATIVE STRESS.

Examines the role of abnormal calcium signalling and the hypothesis that it may represent a target for novel therapeutics.

Presents a hypothesis that AUTISM arises from the dys-regulation of a unified gut/brain system rather than originating in the brain alone.

Proposes the utility of using a bio-psychosocial method to treat AUTISM.

This book shows us that AUTISM is not only developmental but also a chronic condition based on active pathophysiology, and that it is not only behavioural but also presents somatic and systemic features.

The findings in these chapters support the theory that OXIDATIVE STRESS plays an important role in AUTISM. They also point to the value of conducting in-depth mechanistic studies as a way to uncover new targets for therapeutic intervention in AUTISM.

7 SIGNS YOU HAVE OXIDATIVE STRESS. I HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR YOU ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™
1.Fatigue - constantly tired, slump in the afternoon.
2. Brain fog, memory loss, forgetfulness
3. Muscle or joint pain and inflammation
4. Aging signs - wrinkles, grey hair that are significant, hair loss
5. Poor eyesight that is diminishing continuously
6. Headaches and sensitivity to noise
7. Immunity is low - constantly sick.
If this is you - what are you doing to reduce your oxidative stress?
We know that high oxidative stress can lead to over 200 plus diseases. Check it out on https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ where all the doctors and scientist go to. Over 240000 studies (I repeat two hundred and forty thousand ) ๐Ÿ˜ฑ itโ€™s that serious

29/01/2021

SLEEP - sometimes a mythical creature of your imagination when hormones are changing or youโ€™re in the midst of busy-ness ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
Did you know you can use your nightly skincare routine to help โ€œswitch ONโ€ some of your brain chemicals that give you a better nights sleep?
Some helpful triggers are:-
โœจ using skincare that has essential oils in it to start the โ€œcalmingโ€ response in your nervous system
โœจ DOING your night routine. This is a goodie. Most women I coach know that SHOULD be doing it - but being โ€œtoo tiredโ€ is a common theme... than your excuses - especially if you canโ€™t sleep!!
โœจ feeling nurtured - this happens as youโ€™re actually going thru the process of cleansing, toning & moisturising... you have to touch your skin, massaging your skincare into your face - feels good right? Thats the โ€œhappy hormonesโ€ releasing...they also trigger your โ€œrest, relax & repairโ€ process - good for AND great for sleep
โœจmuscle memory - this isnโ€™t just reserved for athletes... you can use โ€œpatterning โ€œ to release those sleepytime hormones - which, by the way, help you hormones to RE-BALANCE quicker.
By doing the same routine at approx the same time each night - helps your body get into a โ€œrhythm โ€œ - like babies having a routine so they know itโ€™s bedtime ๐Ÿ’š
If youโ€™re not sleeping - what time do you wake? .

Between 1-3am OR between 4-5am. This says a lot about where your are at
