🔧 Custom Hotrod Part Modification!
Check out this photo showcasing our recent turning and fabrication work. We modified a pulley wheel to allow the use of an L spanner, ensuring seamless functionality. Additionally, we extended the thread and widened the base of an old dog starting crankshaft bolt. Quality craftsmanship at its finest!

Repairs and Restorations...
We received this press tool from a customer last week. After years of use, it had developed rust stains and scratches, preventing 3.0mm material to slide in.
We completely disassembled the tool and cleaned and polished all surfaces, removing all rust and scratches, restoring it back to its original use and look.
Base X Engineering will take a look at any old tools you may have that you wish to bring back to their original state. It's both cost-effective and environmentally friendly, whilst supporting local business.

Successful test completed...
Extremely pleased with the end result of our hard metal engraving test on Tuesday. We were able to successfully engrave 4 individually designed mild steel plates within the span of 12hrs, at a depth of 0.8mm, using only 2 125mm engraving bits.
Looking forward to seeing what other designs and items we can engrave.

Today we have been testing a engraving tool, to allow us to engrave hard metals using our .com.au Lead CNC Router. It has taken a bit to get the cutting depth, cutting feed and spindle speed correct, but happy with the result so far.

Wheelchair servicing, repairs and modifications
Its been a couple of busy months with a range of wheelchair sports competitions taking place around Australia. With this comes servicing of sports wheelchairs and lots of repairs.
We recently assisted a wheelchair rugby player with upgrading his ball carrier to better suit his needs and preferences. The customer was extremely pleased with the result, helping him get success at the recent Wheelchair Rugby National Championship 2023.

Replicate and upgrade...
These wheelchair footplates were copied from an imported plastic model that was breaking. We were able to scan one into the PC, create a digital replica, then plasma cut from 3.0mm aluminium plate.
Our single charge digital design fee means that our customers can replicate and upgrade items at an affordable price. Once an item has been digitally created, you can choose the quantity of items you want, when you want them; order as single items as you need, or in bulk.
