Red Energy is proud to congratulate Lauren Parker who has completed another major milestone, finishing the grueling Kona Ironman as a paratriathlete.
"It's been my dream for the last five years since my accident, to come here and race as a para-athlete … it's just unbelievable."
The Kona Ironman is held on Hawaii’s mainland at Kailua-Kona and competitors complete a 3.8km swim followed by 180km bike and finish with a 42.2km marathon run which Lauren completed in her racing chair.
Lauren completed last Friday’s race in an outstanding 12 hours 20 minutes and 35 seconds.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Each year, Red turns pink to support our charity partner Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) to raise awareness and funds to support the 20,000 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer, and their families.

Our head office on Church St Richmond features a silhouette of the BCNA pink lady, which represents the person diagnosed with breast cancer and all those around them.
There are many ways to get involved in Breast Cancer Awareness Month with BCNA. You can support BCNA by holding a Pink Lady fundraising event and a Mini-Field of Women as a show of support to people in your local community affected by breast cancer. The Born and BRed Footy clinic was back on the road last night this time reuniting Essendon player Jake Stringer with his junior club The Eaglehawk Football Club. Nearly 180 aspiring junior footballers were on the ready to welcome him back!

In 2022 more than 1300 young Indigenous athletes will join the multifaceted sport, cultural, education and leadership program to compete in Rugby League, Basketball, Football Fives, Gymnastics and Netball. It will run at venues across Salamander Bay, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Newcastle and Nelson Bay.

Snowy Hydro and Red Energy are proud to be supporting PCYC NSW to deliver Nations of Origin and other key programs across NSW that aim to actively engage young people. The partnership is particularly focused on supporting young Indigenous people and providing employment opportunities for at-risk youth.
