There’s a story behind the name of our humble Handspan Pouch

My dad, Ken, was a puppeteer for many decades and ‘Handspan’ was the name of the Theatre Company that his group of friends founded in 1977 • He met my mum, Carmelina, when she joined the company in 1984 and (while not together anymore) they are still good friends today • I spent many, many hours in their studio and backstage of their productions as a child so I didn’t have much hope of ever having a ‘normal’ job (but they did assure me that if that was the path I chose they would still be proud 😆) •

• We are back in the studio today! • This year I am vowing to trust my gut more and put more energy into the things I want to make, rather than constantly trying to keep up with everything else that’s out there • It may disappoint some of you, but we’re going to be leaning slightly away from the Bikepacking side of the spectrum and focus a little bit more on the unsung heros of cycling; Commuters! •
