An update from our team who recently completed "The Push-Up Challenge," raising vital funds for mental health. The team managed to raise $1,570.00, completing an impressive 25,666 push-ups. We are extremely proud of the crew and extend a huge thank you to everyone who supported them. 💪

Team Member Stories: Nathon Burton

For NSW Powerlines Manager Nathon Burton, making critical decisions under pressure comes naturally.

It’s a skill he perfected during a 15-year career in the military and one he’s utilised in management positions at an array of national and multinational corporations.

So, when the opportunity arose to head up one of Active Tree Service’s most significant business areas, he knew it was something he wanted to pursue, but it was also a role he did not rush into lightly.

Over the course of several months, Nathon met with Active team members including Chief Executive Officer Richard Nedov and Chief Operating Officer Jim Roberts.

He found the culture and ethos of the company resonated, and its vision for the future was one he was keen to be part of.

“Something inside said this was something I needed to pursue. I knew it was a great role, but neither Active nor I were in a rush,” Nathon says.

“We took our time, catching up and building a relationship and it just clicked, I knew I had to be part of that team.”

Our team member Russell Green has been hard at work north of Melbourne near Wallan. Scoping means seeing every span and sometimes mapping out a path for others to follow. These trees are located a couple of kilometres off-road, requiring several gates to be opened and navigating through rocky outcrop areas and muddy paddocks. Fortunately, the Suzuki Jimny eats this terrain up! 🚙🌳

Spotted in Moana, South Australia: Our powerline cutting crew, led by sub-contractor David Albrecht, showcasing the Versalift VST40-I in action. With quick setup and smooth function speeds, this equipment boasts a working height of 12.3m and a horizontal outreach of 9.2m, making it ideal for our operations.

We were recently engaged by Brisbane City Council to undertake palm pruning in several parks for Anzac Day memorial services. One of the more complex jobs involved nightworks under traffic control to ensure minimal disruption to city traffic. Our team completed the task using a large 28-meter hire tower.
