With my brothers and sisters, circa 1967. Martin and Sheila with guitars, Tony, Mary Jo (with our dog Whiskey) and John up the front. David up the back and me standing on the right, loving my outfit it seems. The eldest Anne is away in the convent becoming a nun. Sheila taught me my first chords on guitar. Martin introduced me to Walt Whitman and much more. PK.

Happy birthday to former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman, who turns 87 today! 🎂🤘
Born William George Perks on October 24, 1936, Bill is an English musician, record producer, songwriter and singer best known for his role as the bassist of the Stones from 1962 until 1993.
He has also made a contribution to the recently released Rolling Stones album 'Hackney Diamonds.
Since 1997, he has recorded and toured with his own band, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. He has worked producing both records and film, and has scored music for film in movies and television.
Wyman has kept a journal since he was a child after World War II.
This journal has served as a wellspring of inspiration for him, particularly as an author with seven published books that have collectively sold over two million copies.
Facing financial constraints in his early years, Wyman took on the challenge of crafting his own fretless bass guitar. Alongside his musical endeavors, he delved into amateur archaeology and developed a penchant for relic hunting. His passion for art has also propelled him into the world of photography, with his work showcased in galleries across the globe.
Bill Wyman, at 87, remains an enduring legend in the music industry, proving that age is no barrier to rocking on.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young scored the # 1 album in America this day in 1970. As you will hear during this IN THE STUDIO episode regarding the making of Déjà Vu, rock myth collides head-on with fact regarding Neil Young’s initial integration into Crosby, Stills, and Nash. Young was two years and two albums into a budding solo career after leaving Buffalo Springfield when former bandmate Stephen Stills, ex-Byrd David Crosby, and Graham Nash from the Hollies all realized that the three of them could not pull off the song arrangements live that were on their 1969 debut album. So Young was recruited for the first Crosby, Stills, and Nash tour, not a permanent member of the band. After Neil Young sat in at the trio’s second gig, some people noticed. The fact that the gig was the Woodstock Festival in 1969 might have had something to do with it. Deja Vu contained Stephen’s “Carry On”, the definitive version of Joni Mitchell’s “Woodstock”, Graham’s “Our House” and “Teach Your Children”, David’s “Almost Cut My Hair”, and Neil’s “Helpless”. Young contributed only two songs, no doubt saving even stronger material for his own third solo album After the Goldrush barely five months later. David, Stephen, Graham, and Neil all weigh in for the album Deja Vu as Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. https://bit.ly/3VdfcNj

Raised in Sydney, Richard Clapton learned guitar while at school in the 60s and knocked around in various bands in the UK and Europe before returning to Australia in the early 70s. He had a series of successful albums and wrote some of the most iconic Australian songs of the 70s-80s era, including “Girls On The Avenue”, “Deep Water”, “Goodbye Tiger” and “The Best Years Of Our Lives”. He produced INXS early in their career and fronted one of the lineups of The Party Boys. Fast forward a few decades and Richard still records and tours regularly. Many happy returns.
