I had the pleasure of spending today with these two lovely ladies in my studio and whilst I’m not generally happy with being in front of a camera, I have to admit, the photo of me with Rachael ‘ain’t too bad’.
Of course, pride of place goes to Harry Cat, who always has to monitor the goings on…

I love the wisdom this beautiful woman has. She is such a wonderful example of how growing older with grace is so much better than chasing the illusive fountain of youth.

In her own words;
Judi Dench
"Don’t prioritise your looks my friend, as they won’t last the journey.
Your sense of humor though, will only get better with age.
Your intuition will grow and expand like a majestic cloak of wisdom.
Your ability to choose your battles, will be fine-tuned to perfection.
Your capacity for stillness, for living in the moment, will blossom.
Your desire to live each and every moment will transcend all other wants.
Your instinct for knowing what (and who) is worth your time, will grow and flourish like ivy on a castle wall.
Don’t prioritise your looks my friend,
they will change forevermore, that pursuit is one of much sadness and disappointment.
Prioritise the uniqueness that make you you, and the invisible magnet that draws in other like-minded souls to dance in your orbit.
These are the things which will only get better."

I absolutely love this story........ It made me cry. Very touching.
"An 87 Year Old College Student Named Rose
The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know.
I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned round to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me
with a smile that lit up her entire being.
She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?”
I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze.
“Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked.
She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids…”
“No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.
“I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the
next three months, we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this “time machine”
as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was
introduced and stepped up to the podium.
As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell
you what I know.”
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop
playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day.
You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.
We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it!There is a huge difference between growing
older and growing up.
If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old.
If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.
Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change.
Have no regrets.
The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those
with regrets.”
She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.”
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.
At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died
peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s
never too late to be all you can possibly be .When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they’ll really enjoy it!
These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS
OPTIONAL.
We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give."

What an absolutely great day with these two lovelies.

Jackie regularly attends to create little masterpieces and today was no exception. Four shamrocks! With three flying off to Ireland in a couple of weeks.
Alison is a first timer whose little dragonfly has given her the bug…needless to say, I’m looking forward to her next creative outburst in my studio.

Finally installed into its rightful home…this project has been a labour of love, sweat and a couple of tears for just over 10 months and I’m so pleased to say that both my clients are very happy.

Needless to mention that I am too…

Another great day’s workshop with a group of ladies (the awesome foursome)…who provided a lots of laughs and some good conversations.
After meeting them for the first time, I think their creations are good representations of their personalities too. Super work ladies!

The four very different creations made at my workshop on Saturday.
Having attended previously, both Edith and Anna’s blue wren pieces added just a bit of a challenge with Sandra steadily adding to her colourful panels for her windows.
First time for Gemma whose little silver eye looks right at home in her kitchen window.
Well done ladies!

I’m so happy that my client is happy…

New art for my home - in the form of a stunning stained glass panel.
This panel is created using textured and beveled clear glass pieces and was designed in consultation with Possums Run Glass Art & Wood 'n Things They have done an amazing job bringing my vision to life and in creating the custom wood frame.
Pictures don't do it justice. It looks simply fabulous!

This is a dead honey bee.

The pollen on her legs is from dandelions. Her tongue is sticking out from when she died instantly from tasting w**d killer on the dandelions.

It’s spring, and dandelions are the bees first food.

Please don’t spray for w**ds until you see other reliable food sources for bees, ie blackberries fruiting, or fruit trees blooming.

Remember…..No bees, no food crops = we all starve.

Sorry for the late notice everyone but we won't be attending the Kalamunda Artisan Market tomorrow.

We will be there for April though and by then, I'll have plenty of creations available...

Hope to see you soon

I like this word!

This is a panel commission I’ve been working on for the past year.
In between bouts of Covid, unexpected surgery for my husband and waiting on glass supply, work on these intricate cuts have kept me occupied.

As long as it continues to progress as I’d like, this piece will be a gorgeous addition to my customer’s home.
