This is millionaire Stuart Whiley who heads submarine builder ASC. Hundreds of South Australian submarine workers across the AMWU, AWU - Australian Workers' Union and ETU - The Electrical Trades Union critical to the survival of Australia’s future AUKUS submarine fleet unanimously have issued a vote of no confidence in the CEO’s leadership calling for him to be sacked. Stop hiding and meet your workers at the bargaining table!

Representatives of the Australian Shipbuilding Federation of Unions are in Canberra this week meeting with government ministers about the need to build Australia's local submarine manufacturing workforce.
If we don't start training and skilling our workers now, there's no way we'll be able to maintain and repair nuclear submarines when the AUKUS treaty delivers them.
We need to build six Collins Mark II conventional subs as an interim build to plug our defence capability gap and give our workers the experience they'll need in the future.
Australia need to build to six new Colins class submarines to build the workforce and plug our country capability gap.
‘We need a plan B’: Unions have ‘deep concerns’ about AUKUS pact Manufacturing unions fear AUKUS will not deliver the promised local jobs bonanza and are urging the government to develop a back-up submarine plan.
We need to keep Australian shipbuilding jobs here.
Come down to Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga on the 24th and tell the government that we need to build the next generation of conventional subs in Australia.
Another day, another hole in the harebrained idea that we can plug our submarine capability gap by buying nuclear subs off-the-shelf from the US. Even American politicians are admitting the US simply doesn't have capacity to sell Australia any subs.
It's yet another reason why the federal government should commit to building the next generation of conventional submarines here in Australia.
Leaked senators’ letter warns AUKUS deal could harm US submarine industry The intervention is the first time members of Congress from either party have expressed significant misgivings about the AUKUS pact.
First of the BAE type 26 HMS Glasgow, hits the water in Govern Scotland. The vessel is to be handed over to the Royal Navy in the mid 2020s . This is the frigate that the Australian Navies Hunter class frigate program is based off.

Some of our AMWU Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union WA members at Henderson Maritime Precinct in Perth met with Defence Industry Minister Pat Conroy MP yesterday to talk about what our trainees and apprentices in the defence industry need to succeed.
Our defence manufacturing sovereign capability needs to be strengthened - and our next generation of apprentices will be the ones to do it.

The Hunter class frigates will be among the world’s most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates – and the process to build them is incredible.

Under the Morrison Government $5.5 billion has been wasted on submarines that will never exist, with 1,000 South Australian jobs lost to show for it.
Gold plated infrastructure.
Well that was quick! The broken cross arm we posted about yesterday at 1 Hoylake St, Novar Gardens has swiftly been replaced by the outstanding SA Power workers!
It appears there actually is work out there for the SA Power Workers to perform despite SA Power Networks claiming there isn't and sending workers home without pay citing "We have not been able to find any duties for you to be usefully employed on this day despit our best efforts"
If that is the best you can do SAPN, then your best isn't good enough!
This disgusting and obviously false statement by SAPN just goes to show the deep and systemic problems within the company by the way they treat their workers. A shocking course of action of a once great publically owned South Australian Utility now in the private hands of foreign ownership.
Shame SAPN Shame!
Stay tuned as we find more work for the hardworking SA Power Workers ✊

As an island nation, our local shipbuilding industry is absolutely crucial, but current plans for new nuclear-powered submarines could see us face a capability gap before they hit the water.
Today we launched our report calling for immediate plans to build as many as six conventional submarines in Australia so we don't lose critical shipbuilding jobs, skills, and capacity, and can ensure the navy has the capability they need.
