Finished our time in Melbourne with an evening meal at an iconic restaurant where the food and the atmosphere were just as special as I remember on my last visit over 30 years ago! Just enough energy to walk back to our accommodation down some little lanes with some special artwork. Flying home tomorrow with lots of ideas so that we can thaw out!

A special day spent with my parents in Melbourne recently. I only just qualified as a "Senior" but it was a lovely time. Only question is whether or not Ninja the turtle has recovered from having his fish tank decorated with bunting?!?! A huge thank you to all the wonderful staff who look after my Dad so well which is such a relief to know when I live interstate and then some.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes. Feeling the love. I had a very special day. 💜

I have had the awesome privilege of working with some wonderful ladies teaching them basic sewing and textiles this year through a joint initiative with Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation Pilbara
Yesterday was our last day for Term 3 and we had a lovely visit with Melissa Price MP who was able to see first-hand some of the fabulous creations these ladies have made. Denise was able to explain how she gets inspired to create her products directly with our special visitor.
Here's just a sample of some of Denise's creations. She has already sold several pieces as well as making bespoke individual products to order.
Denise and some of the other ladies' work will be available for sale at the Point Samson Makers Market this Sunday 22nd September from 10am till 2pm on my stall under the verandah.
Otherwise, you will find them back working on their projects three days a week (Mondays to Wednesdays) in our Textile Studio where you are welcome to drop in and browse for yourself at the start of Term 4.
Thanks so much for dropping by yesterday Melissa Price MP
Your support and encouragement is really appreciated 💜

I have had the privilege of mentoring an awesome group of ladies this year as we explore all sorts of sewing and textile techniques. Some ladies have come for a short season and others have been here all along. We gather three days a week in my Textile Studio where it has been a creative hive of activity.
Last month, two of our ladies exhibited some of their products at the Pilbara Indigenous Business Network Group Trade Show held at Red Earth Art Precinct and both sold and received orders for their creations.
This month, they have decided to try displaying their creations at the Point Samson Makers Market as part of Grateful Remnants stall on the verandah of the Community Hall.
Come along and check out their bespoke, unique items for yourself and find out more about this exciting Joint Initiative between Grateful Remnants & Ashburton Aboriginal Corporation.

These cute little geckos are so fun to make. They are one-off designs and suitable for all ages.
