Dare to Aspire 2024 - Day 3 Workshop 🌟

Participants dived deep into planning and organisation, collaboration, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. These core themes not only inspire innovation and efficiency, but also cultivate an environment where every individual's unique strengths contribute to collective success.

The Dare to Aspire program supports and nurtures our team's personal and professional development. It empowers them with the expertise, abilities, and mindset necessary to thrive in their roles and unlock their potential. 🚀

Last weekend we saw our teams come together to celebrate our End of Financial Year Ball! These moments serve as a great reminder of the remarkable team and community we have built.

We celebrated our collective achievements and honored outstanding contributions, including recognising the remarkable Lauren Deetlefs as our Mark Lonnon Employee of the Year 2024. Congratulations, Lauren! 🏆

This year’s NAIDOC Week theme celebrates the unyielding spirit of First Nations communities and invites all to stand in solidarity to help amplify the voices of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

Today, our Gender Equity Network and teams gathered for a morning tea to celebrate NAIDOC week and to discuss the importance of cultural inclusion and what the Reconciliation Action Plan means to us. It's a vital time to recognise and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and achievements.

Last week Kylee Dare and Helen Wiseman hosted a very colourful workshop for our Thrive and Lead group.

The session was all about diving into Change Leadership, helping everyone navigate the twists and turns of ambiguity, uncertainty, and disruption. It certainly looked like the place to get creative!

There’s nothing better than witnessing a room full of exceptionally talented leaders, feeling inspired, and excited about the future. 💡✨

State of Origin 2024 🏉

Last night, we hosted our annual State of Origin event for the first time ever at the Newcastle Centre of Excellence, to watch the Blues battle it out with the Maroons!

We are thrilled to announce that we raised over $15,500 for Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service - Official Site. This essential service supports 1.5 million people across Northern NSW with emergency aeromedical services.

It was an exhilarating game to watch with everyone on the edge of their seats. We couldn’t be happier with the 38-18 victory for NSW, go the blues!

Thank you to Mat Croker, Adam Elliott, and Peter Parr from the Newcastle Knights who made a guest appearance, and a huge thank you to all that attended and generously contributed to such a fantastic cause.

We hope a great night was had by all!

Beanies for Brain Cancer!

Since 2014, the Mark Hughes Foundation have sold 1 million beanies that contribute to ongoing research aimed at combating brain cancer, as well as improving the treatment and care available to those affected.

Every year, our teams look forward to rocking their Mark Hughes Foundation Beanies, knowing they are supporting a wonderful cause that raises funds to support brain cancer research, increase awareness, and provide vital support to brain cancer patients and their families.

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Hugh McKensey on 1 June 2024.

Hugh leaves behind a legacy that extends beyond his professional achievements. Hugh was a highly successful Financial and Business Adviser, Accountant and business owner who made significant contributions to all his clients, along with the many team members he worked with and mentored over the years.

Hugh’s professional career spanned over 60 years and encompassed being a long-term Managing Partner at Forsythes, Partner of RML Accountants (later merging with PKF), Chairman of PKF Wealth, Director and Board member of Newcastle Grammar School, and a Chairman of multiple boards.
His commitment and unwavering dedication has left an indelible mark on our firm.

For those who wish to pay their respects and celebrate Hugh's life, a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 12th at Lake Macquarie Memorial Park, 405 Cessnock Road, Ryhope, commencing at 11am.

May he Rest in Peace.
