The Beach Walk for Brain Cancer Manly supports the Tony Lucas Research Grant funding research projects within the work of Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.
The Beach Walk for Brain Cancer is a fun 5km walk held on the last Sunday of November each year. The event supports the Tony Lucas Research Grant which funds medical research projects within the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is Australia's largest active fundraiser for brain tumour research and awareness in Australia. I established this research grant when my Dad,
Tony, lost his battle to brain cancer in June 2011. I know that he was not ready to give up and I hope to continue my Dad's passion and tireless commitment to finding a cure for brain cancer. Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in children aged 0-14 years and the leading cause of cancer death in males aged 0-44 years. Despite this brain cancer is the most under-funded and understudied of all cancers. My Dad showed us that if we reach out and share our story, we can raise awareness and much needed funds. On behalf of my Dad, I invite you to join us on the Beach Walk for Brain Cancer to walk together toward a cure for all those with brain cancer and for all those who love them.
