The guidelines for including oily fish in your dogs diet is 2-3 times per week.
Oily fish contains long-chain omega-3 fatty acids. Oily fish is associated with various health benefits, including a lower risk of heart disease, improved mental ability, and protection from cancer.
Oily fish can help promote healthy skin, coat, eyes and brain health too so be sure to get it into your dog's diet.
Canned fish in olive oil or spring water is fine if you can't get fresh fish. Many dogs will accept the likes of canned salmon even if they're a bit fussy.
Tuna is higher in heavy metals so we recommend to only include it every now and then unless you're using a detoxer (something that binds to heavy metals) like Canine Ceuticals Super Greens.
Some people may also have other criteria when choosing fish such as wild vs farmed and sustainability, that's not a topic for today but if it's important to you then some independent research will be required on your behalf.
Fish oil/omega-3 supplements such as Antinol do not replace real food, you give them both.
