Tuesday 9th November at 6pm - Online via Zoom
GARDENING FOR GOOD AT WERRIBEE PARK
This month we're lucky to be hearing from Parks Victoria's James Brincat and his colleagues at Werribee Park, situated 35km west of Melbourne.
Werribee Park, including Werribee Mansion and the Victoria State Rose Garden is a renowned venue for hosting festivals, music events and weddings. However, recent COVID lock downs have severely impacted the running of this significant and loved heritage site.

In an inspiring move they have partnered with AMES Australia and their local Sikh community to make this time an opportunity to assist their local community and help those in need. This is a great example of how horticulture and those in the industry can have a positive impact on not only the environment but also the people around us.

This presentation will include discussion on these projects and a saag cooking demonstration, followed by a Q & A.

This month's presentation is FREE to all, bought to you by the Green Gardening Professionals.

Limited places available so please pre register here to avoid missing out: https://www.sgaonline.org.au/event/ggp-peer-evening-werribee-park-gardening-for-good/

Webinar - Gardening to Build Community 04/11/2021

Put Tuesday November 9 at 6.00pm in your calendar - a great webinar is planned by Sustainable Gardening Australia

James Brincat from Parks Victoria Werribee Park Mansion will entertain us with a fabulous initiative developed during lockdown to engage with the local community in a horticultural, environmental and socially sustainable way.

And a live cooking demonstration will show how the produce is used to make a delicious meal.

And it's all free - thanks to SGA

Back out at University of Melbourne Burnley Campus on another fact finding mission as part of the Landscape Maintenance Specification Review project I’m delivering.
Had a chance to survey the ‘Burnley Living Roof’, which is performing very well even during winter
Great to wander around my old college

I’ve taken onboard learnings from Fergus Garrett at and experimented with utilising tulips to add colour and interest in an otherwise monotone winter garden. Still some way to go and lots to learn. The tulips are starting to contrast well against the Euphorbia ‘Tasmanian Tiger’ and will when the Euphorbia wulfenii springs into life

I’m currently reviewing the landscape maintenance specifications for all campuses of the University of Melbourne. This is allowing me to re-visit my horticultural nascent at Burnley Gardens, where I was a student over 30 years ago
