For our subscription members: the resources page for Delson Stoke's song, 'Campfires', has been released today. It ties in beautifully with the NAIDOC '24 theme, 'Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud'. Its a culturally rich theme with links to Languages, English, HASS, Science, Technology, Maths and the Arts, as well as the EYLF AND WA Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines. This song will help you and your students to 'koodjal djinang', or investigate fire through two cultural lenses, by exploring the ideas embedded in the different lines of the song.

The NAIDOC 2024 theme is 'Keep the fire burning! Blak, loud and proud'. We are excited to release the resources for Delly Stokes' song 'Campfires' later this week. The campfire is a rich cultural symbol for community and storytelling in Aboriginal culture, and there are many links to Science, Maths, HASS, Technology and the Arts with the activities that go with this song.

As we approach the end of Term 1, teachers may be looking ahead for ideas to explore Sorry Day (26 May.) The Sorry Song is an age-appropriate way to address the concepts around The Apology and Stolen Generation with Primary School Students. On the Koorlong Moort website there is an interview between Koorlong Team member, Keira Gentle and the writer of the Sorry Song, Kerry Fletcher. This includes discussion on motivation for writing the song and how it was received when Prime Minister Kevin Rudd gave his Apology speech in 2008.
Resources include HASS, English and Arts activities, including the instructions for the making of Sorry Day flowers.

Woolah! The final content for the Bibbulmun Bonar Song has been uploaded to the Koorlong Moort website. Subscribers will also find activities based on the Moodjar Tree (Native Christmas Tree). Denmark/Kwoorabup based artist, Echo Omen, has created a song and video called Moojar, which features our very own Koorlong presenter, Cezera Critti-Schnaars dancing her way through these iconic trees.
