I presented 2 Key Word Sign Workshops this week. What a busy couple of days!
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of training a room full of educators at a preschool. They were looking to foster a key word sign rich environment for the lucky kids that attend their service.
Today, I got to spend the day training a beautiful group of people who are eager to continue sharing key word sign within their communities. Our group had parents, grandparents, educators, disability day program service providers, music therapists and speech pathologists. Oh, and a special little bubba guest who was just the best little bundle.
Here are some photos from today π· π§
Bookings close TOMORROW!

Today in Key Word Sign Kids class, we started getting ready for the holiday season. Some festive elves decorated our room overnight to help us get into the Christmas spirit!
We learnt lots of fun Christmas signs, sang songs, listened to a Christmas story, took turns decorating the tree, made some craft to take home, and opened a little present.
Today was our last class for the year, but please send me a message if you are interested in joining next term!
Thank you to everyone who participated in classes this year. I always have loads of fun and I hope you all did too!
This week in Key Word Sign Kids class, we practised signs that are helpful within our daily routine.
Everyone followed our "Dolly's Routine" visual schedule, and we had a lot of pretend play with our dollies.
Our story was 'Hello World', which was a winner in last year's Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year Awards.
There are less than half of the tickets remaining. Get in fast so you don't miss out. It is going to be a great day :)

Kaseyβs Story
I studied at the University of Newcastle and completed my Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) in 2014. During my time at university, I volunteered for Cerebral Palsy Alliance. I supported people with their hydrotherapy programs and I ran an AAC chat group for a gentleman who uses eye gaze technology.
Following my passion to work in the disability sector, I obtained my first job at Ageing, Disability and Home Care (ADHC). After leaving ADHC, I headed towards the world of NDIS and worked for non-for-profit organisations. I began working for Samaritans and followed this with Ability Options until I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and developed Creating Opportunities Speech Pathology.
When I provide speech therapy services to people, I learn a lot about them and the details in their life. I feel that to build a strong working relationship and to build trust, that it goes both ways. So here I am, sharing my story.
