A sensory room is a dedicated space designed to offer a calming, safe environment where individuals can engage in sensory activities tailored to their needs. This special space is important for anyone, as it provides opportunities for relaxation and emotional regulation, promotes sensory exploration, and enhances overall well-being.

Whether it’s through soothing lights, gentle sounds, or tactile experiences, our Sensory Room aims to create a peaceful retreat where everyone can find comfort and enjoyment. We believe this addition will significantly enhance the respite experience for our guests, providing them with a supportive and enriching environment.

This weekend at StarBridge Home was truly special as we had the pleasure of hosting Jay, one of our incredible clients, for some much-needed respite. 🏡 Accompanied by our dedicated support worker, Jay enjoyed a weekend filled with laughter and new experiences. 🤩

From making pancakes on Saturday morning with Joseph and their Support Worker 🥞, to adventurous outings in the park🛝, building Lego masterpieces 🏗, and indulging in pizza🍕 for dinner Saturday night, Jay had an absolute blast. A serene walk at Lake Eden added the perfect touch to a memorable weekend.⛲️🚶‍♂️🐢

**Key Responsibilities:

▪️Deliver direct care to individuals with disabilities.
▪️Enhance participants' social, living, and recreational skills

⭐️What We Offer⭐️

▪️ Location: North Brisbane
▪️ Flexible hours;
▪️Would suit someone looking for casual hours. 10- 30hrs a week. If you want more great!
▪️Over night shifts Monday- Sunday.
▪️Comprehensive training and ongoing support.
▪️Thriving and supportive team environment.

**Qualifications and Experience:**

- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in managing and deescalating situations effectively.
- Advantageous: Manual Handling/Hoisting experience.
- Highly regarded: Certificate 3 in Disability.
- Valid Driver’s License and Vehicle.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- NDIS Worker Screening Card/Yellow Card exemption or willingness to obtain.
- Blue Card
- Full working rights in Australia.

Join Our Community Group Fitness at The Mill at Moreton Bay - Petrie!

We are thrilled to announce our newest Community Group Fitness classes in partnership with Healthy and Active Moreton Bay!

At just $5 per session, our classes are designed to be affordable and accessible for everyone.

Classes are held at The Mill at Moreton Bay - Petrie every Monday morning at 9am- 10am during school terms.

Enjoy a 45-minute session in a beautiful, open, lush green space with an amphitheater, providing the perfect environment for your workout.

Conveniently located across from USC University and Petrie train station, with ample street parking available. Our classes feature a variety of workouts, including circuit-style sessions targeting lower body, upper body, core, and cardio, as well as non-combative boxing sessions that promote cardiovascular fitness, stress relief, and full-body strength.

Whether you're looking to get fit, stay active, or meet new friends in the community, our classes are perfect for anyone over the age of 30.

This weekend marked a significant milestone for us at StarBridge Services as we opened our very first StarBridge Services Home! 🏡✨ We couldn't be prouder to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities like Georgia.

Georgia, one of our fabulous clients, enjoyed a wonderful 4-day respite stay at the SB home, accompanied by our dedicated carers. It was heartwarming to witness the smiles and joy shared throughout her stay. 😊 And guess what? We had a special visitor! Jay, Georgia's friend whom we also support, dropped by to check out the new home and join in on the fun! 🎉

Friday Afternoon we officially launched of our first StarBridge Home 🤗 After months of hard work and dedication, we've turned our dream into reality.

It's been an intense fortnight, with no days off and countless hours poured into making this happen. From back-to-back 2 expos, 12-14 hour days getting the home ready for our FIRST respite, every moment has been worth it.

We couldn't be prouder or more excited about this milestone. 🌟 And that's not all - in the last two weeks, we've welcomed two new Support Workers to our team, expanding our capacity to provide exceptional care and support.

Our first guest in our beautiful home is Georgia who has been having a blast.

Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of surprising Jay, one of our incredible clients, with tickets to his very first footy game to watch his favourite team, the Broncos, play on Friday night!
