Never underestimate the power of statement lighting! This beauty looked like a tutu in the box and a cloud when hung. Can’t wait to share the final install in this room.

Layers of colours and textures… I’ve been looking at a lot of real estate lately and overwhelmingly each new build / renovation I have looked at I have noticed that the home owners have used the one set of colours and finishes in each and every room - bathroom / kitchen / laundry / living / bedrooms. Whilst this might make decision making easy, and on the face of it they are lovely colours and stones, for me it just reads as one giant yawn. Tell a story with your house, connect spaces with the same stone in some spaces, but try and make each space feel a little unique. Trust me, you won’t regret it. 😁

I love pulling together colour schemes – my favourite part of any project.

If you’re about to start a renovation journey, let’s talk about the transformative power of cohesive colour schemes in interiors.

1️. Create a Unified Atmosphere: Colours set the mood! A well-thought-out colour scheme ensures every room seamlessly flows into the next, creating a harmonious space from front to back.

2️. Balance is Key: Strike the perfect balance between bold and neutral tones. A cohesive colour scheme doesn’t mean monotony – it’s about the careful blend of hues that complement and enhance each other.

3️. Accentuate Your Style: Infuse your unique style into your space by choosing a colour scheme that resonates with you. Whether it’s vibrant and eclectic or calming and neutral, let your colours tell your story.

4. Consider the Flow: Ensure a smooth transition between rooms by considering how colours interact. Test samples in different lighting conditions to guarantee your chosen hues maintain their cohesion throughout the day.

Today’s flatlay is from our current Darling Point project. Dark cabinetry mixed with timbers and marble, create a classic yet moody and enveloping space.

And holidays are over. Back into it. Nearing completion of some beautiful projects and looking forward to starting some new ones. If you are planning a renovation or redecoration, it’s never too early to start talking to your interior designer. The more time spent planning the better.

I LOVE alfresco dining time of the year. I love table cloths and bentwood chairs, bench seats and sharing the experience with friends and family. Time to spruce up your outdoors!

Who has renovated and was overwhelmed by choice? Colour choices are some of the hardest decisions when renovating. My biggest tip is keep your vision clear, don’t keep changing direction from room to room. Let the story flow from the front door to the back. If you’re finding this hard, then engage a professional (if your budget allows). I always say my job is to eliminate choice, and create a cohesive design from one space to the next.

This is a WIP in the studio - master bed and ensuite.

Earthy, moody, sophisticated - this kitchen has it in spades.

Loving a check at the moment. So many great colours out there, and they’re not only for traditional or country style homes, checks can work with every style home.

New project: bathroom colour schemes coming together in the studio today. I love building colours and textures, that fit the brief and will continue to look beautiful for years to come.

I always say my job is to eliminate choice. Anyone who has renovated before will tell you the choices are overwhelming – tiles, taps, sinks, lighting, the list goes. By engaging a designer, you’re handing over all that leg work to them. And then they bring you a small selection of what’s out there (that fits your brief and your budget), and the final decision is yours, without losing your sanity in a tile showroom.

Setting up a holiday rental property is quite different to furnishing your own home. We need to think about durability, appeal to a broad audience, and functionality. It needs to present beautifully but it also needs to be able to present that way for some time. This project was furnished with consideration to its location (coastal), the clientele, the tropical climate. The result has been a very appealing property that has seen repeat bookings for the owners.

This beautiful Escea fireplace sits at the heart of this home, in the open planing living dining kitchen area of our . We used the same colours around the fireplace as the kitchen. There is an ease in this space yet feels sophisticated and a little bit glam.

This black bathtub would have to be one of my favourite baths ever to go into a project. Love the contrast against the white and it brings out the dark speckles in the terrazzo.

I’m actually planning my own kitchen renovation at the moment. I will always try to avoid sinks in the island where possible and always plan out your storage, know where everything will go before it’s built. I’m very practical when it comes to kitchen design - yes it needs to look amazing (of course! ) but it needs to function amazingly well also.
