I gifted a Mr Huggles today
To a mother who farwelled her son,
His life was taken by cancer
He fought hard, but the cancer won.
She struggles to accept what has happened
Her loss is so hard to bare,
How will she ever accept
That her son is no longer there.
When she held Mr Huggles
A smile lit up her face
Though tears joined in the meeting,
She eagerly enjoyed the embrace.
She has something to hold on to
A small reminder of her son,
I hope in some small way
Some healing has begun.
