Katie’s a busy working musician who also teaches singing. She contacted me as she wanted some help with some minor issues she was having with her iPhone 7. She also suspected that she wasn’t getting the most out of her device. So she booked the 45 minute “Basic Starter” pack and in 45 minutes katie had mastered Siri, Calendar and google maps. She reckoned that just these 3 functions would change her life!! She could use siri to book calendar events for her students and gigs as well as for dictating lyric ideas. She reckons that Google maps is a God send as she, like me, often has difficulty navigating! Today has been a great day! A family contacted me a couple of days ago as their mother had recently had a minor stroke and so was not able to drive until she gets clearance from her doctor. This meant that she was not only not able to do her shopping but was now house bound and not able to catch up with her circle of friends.

Her family also mentioned that she was fiercely independent and didn't like the idea of meals on wheels. They wanted to help her as much as they could but were incredibly time poor with their young family, work etc etc.
So I visited her today for an hour or two. When I first arrived I was met by someone who was obviously not happy. She expressed to me how much she missed just going to the shops. There was no time to waste! We got straight to it and downloaded 3 apps Coles, Uber & Uber Eats. I then spent the next hour slowly going through each app until she felt confident and then watched over while she ordered her first meal.

I cannot find the words to describe her elation when the food arrived and she suddenly realised the potential of this magic tool!! She said to me that she reckoned about 70% of her independence would be restored with just these 3 apps. Don't know if that figure is right but then happy excited people are prone to exaggeration ;)
God I love my job! :)
