And just like that, you’re 1️⃣2️⃣ today!! Happy birthday to my beautiful boofhead Mia 🥳xx
Merry Christmas!🎄Enjoy the festive season with your loved ones and best wishes for a safe and happy holiday!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the beautiful families who supported Learning Buds through these challenging times. Like many small businesses, I didn’t think we would open our doors again. I wouldn’t have made it without you these past two years 🙏💛
Looking forward to welcoming our families back next year and can’t wait to meet our new ones! ❤️ Kate x

This year was super tough for our toddlers. They missed more than half the year due to lockdowns and the restrictions mandated by DET. But next year will be different! 💛
Now taking enrolments for our littlest buds, our toddler program is back! 🤗 Limited spots available.
I’m super excited that my girl will be attending CLC in 2023. If this welcome teddy is any indication of the thoughtfulness and care place into their transition process, I am thrilled with our decision!
So whether it’s transitioning into secondary school or primary school, it is so important that our children feel valued and cared for from the very beginning. I can’t begin to tell you how much I value this!

One of the most rewarding and valued aspects of teaching is being able to make a lasting difference in each child’s life. So receiving messages such as these always fills my heart with joy! 💛

Over the course of the year, so many characters featured in have come through our big blue door. Each week, the children are excited to meet one of Milo’s friends.
It’s a wonderful tool to introduce various language concepts to children, new vocabulary, present interesting facts to broaden their general knowledge and have them problem solve to discover who is hiding behind the door.
During our final session, it was Milo who was hiding behind our door!! 🙈 The children were so excited to surprise Milo and let him know they were there to celebrate his birthday 🙊🙉🎈
A big shout out and thank you to .had.me.at.cookie for baking these adorable cookies for us! They not only looked super cute, but they tasted delicious 😋

Research shows that it is important to explicitly teach the short vowel sounds first. This is because these vowel sounds have one predictable spelling (with some exceptions) and are the most common vowel sounds in the English language. At Learning Buds, we introduce and explicitly teach these vowel sounds individually and then continually revise them through games and songs.

Because vowels are found in every syllable of every word. They help us differentiate between words such as bat, bit, bet and but. If a child cannot identify the vowel sounds, they will sadly, struggle with reading.

During our last session of Learning Buds, our preschoolers made these special Milo monkey keepsakes. The can either be used as a bookmark or finger spacer for their writing when starting school next year.
This craft focused on:
* strengthening their fine motor skills
* Correct pencil grip
* Scissor skills
* Colouring with small controlled lines
* Spatial awareness
* Positional language
So much learning in one tiny craft! All our activities are purposeful and rich in learning! 🐵🙈🙉
𝐺𝑟𝑎𝑑𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 2021 ♥︎
Congratulations to all our 2021 preschoolers who will be heading off to school next year. I am so very proud of all you have achieved this year. Hearing you begin to blend your sounds together to read, recognise common words, correctly form letters, complete set tasks independently; I know that you have the confidence and skills to SHINE 🌟 when you begin school!! All you have learnt this year will provide you with the best possible start. The true superstars of 2021 are our children! 🤗
One of our AMAZING preschoolers practising his sounds at home. Mr V; you are a superstar! 🤩🤩🤩
Phew!! We survived lockdown. These past two weeks, Learning Buds has offered online sessions for our preschoolers. And put simply; the children were AMAZING!! They transitioned so well to online learning and loved every part of our session! I was overwhelmed by the amount of messages I received from families to say their child LOVED the sessions. And one of the most biggest compliments was “My son’s school needs to take a page out of your book. The session was so much fun!” Thank you once again to our beautiful families for your ongoing support! Can’t wait to see you all next week as our preschoolers return to face to face learning 🥰 And for our toddlers, we just have to wait a little more longer 🤞♥️
This week at Learning Buds we investigated insects and the letter sound /i/. Our toddlers and preschoolers alike loved learning lots of facts about insects. We sang songs, danced like insects and had a closer look at insects to discover many fascinating facts about them.
Children were immersed in activities that enhanced their letter sound knowledge, fine motor skills, language and vocabulary development and counting skills! With simple and easily accessible activities, it’s amazing how children can be immersed in so much learning. The perfect formula to make learning fun and engaging! 🐛🐜🪲🐞🦟
