This is what truck driver's deal with on a daily basis. The good news in this case is that our truck driver saw it all about to unfold and stopped to ask the car driver to back it up. Can we also add that this was a single lane and the car driver had crossed a painted traffic island to try and get in front! I actually don't even know why I am posting this here as most, if not all of our followers are involved in the transport industry and can relate to these events. So, maybe there needs to be a greater emphasis in our driver education courses on how to drive around heavy vehicles!

Friday we took delivery of this good looking Mack Anthem. Needless to say we were all a little excited to see it arrive as it is something a little different to the “usual” Mahon fleet trucks. It will be a couple of weeks before you see “Gold Dog” on the Bruce Highway as we are still waiting on PBS docs. Thanks again to Helmsey and Barnsey from VCV Brisbane.

Thought I would share a couple of photos of a project we have working on for a long time.
A DOUBLES 40 pallet combination.

This combination will be heading up the Bruce to Rockhampton every night, with more coming.
I must shout out to Jason Cunningham from FTE for his hard work and patience during this project.

At a time when people’s homes and livelihoods have been fragmented once again, it’s wonderful to receive news of community spirit emerging from the floods.

Our driver Mat has been stranded with his truck just outside Gympie CBD since Friday afternoon. Since then he has taken part in aiding the supply of fruit and vegetables to Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Northern Region, who are working hard during these challenging times.

Mat is also amazed at the amount of thoughtful people who have come forward to assist truck drivers and other stranded travellers. They have volunteered their time tirelessly, cooked up BBQ’s, supplied free water and coffee and provided the use of showers.

We would like to do a shoutout to Drakes Supermarkets, Ian, Jeannie and Janine from Great Eastern Motor Inn and Major from Liberty Service Station Gympie.
This truly is a case of floods bringing people together.
