One Body & Soul Yoga
One Body & Soul is a yoga studio, offering small, more personal classes of Hatha yoga. Please pm to book a spot as space is limited.
If your head is spinning, your mind is busy and you can't take another bit of information in, ask yourself have you given your mind the time to process the information you have been feeding it day in day out? Do you stop "doing" long enough for the information to be processed, digested, absorbed or disposed of?
Restorative Yoga gives us the space, the comfort, and the freedom to allow this to happen.
Tonight's class will be all poses that require no "doing". With this we will release the tension in the body, and the tension in our mind π a beautiful entire body stretch x RESTORE your body, RESTORE your mind x
Come join us for class to sleep well tonight and start tomorrow morning with a clear mind x
PM to save a space β¨οΈ

Thinking tonight we may have an entire front line stretch. Winter has us curling up to get warm and shortening and stiffening all the muscles at the front of the body xx
Let's open them up, stretch them out and come out of our winter slumberπ»π΄π
Let me know if you are keen for a stretch π only three spaces left xx
A really personal (rescheduled) small class for the first one in our new space, a few yogis missing tonight...Dont worry ladies, I bought more than one bottle π thank you ladies for sharing your amazing energy and a glass of bubbles tonight π₯ a beautiful space filled with beautiful energy thanks to you β€οΈ
Classes are always small (6-8 maximum), so if you are keen to try, let me know π
Soooo excited ππππ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
My husband is THE BEST π₯°
What a serene space to practice yoga π§ββοΈ
Let's do some hip work tonight yogis π₯°
EVERYONE needs that.
When we carry anything emotionally or energetically, it automatically relays to tension within out body.
Think about when you're stressed, your shoulders, neck and jaw tighten.
When you've been hurt emotionally you may feel tightening in the chest, or when you're nervous, in the belly.
Releasing this tension, can assist with releasing the emotion that caused it in the first place...if we just breathe through it, let it come up, accept, acknowledge and let it go with no added story π₯° Adding further story to a thought or emotion as it comes up, re-embeds it with extra strength making it harder to release. Think about it, when you replay an event over and over in your head, your mind will 99% of the time add extra to the actual facts and make it seem worse than it was. This makes you feel more upset, so you push it down...AGAIN and STRONGER!!
Let's release some stored s* tonight and let it go!!!! ππ«Άπ
Even if it is just tension from the body π
pm if you would like a space saved as there are limited spaces β¨οΈ
If I didn't lose you with my first post this morning, think about this...
Your eyes are an organ and your sight is a function of that organ.
Your ears are an organ and your hearing is a function of that organ.
If you do not like what you are seeing or hearing, or it is damaging to the organ, you can choose to not watch or listen (in most cases).
So why, when our brain is the organ and the mind and awareness are the function, do we think we cannot choose how we use it????
Because it is hard and constant work!!!! Our brain has been programmed (like a computer, or another analogy, a riverbed) since birth with the flow or input of other people's opinions, thoughts and perceptions, and then through life with who and what we choose to surround ourselves with. There is a path that our mind automatically takes due to this programming and/or constant daily input. Changing its path takes a bloody lot of hard work, but we can do it...we can choose to think, feel and perceive things differently and more in line with who we are and what feels good/real for us.
Need more proof? Think about when you are constantly surrounded by things and people who think and speak negatively or you are not in tune with, how do you feel? Think about when you are constantly surrounded by things and people you are more in tune with, how does it feel?
That is ONE of the true purposes of yoga/meditation. Slow the flow of the mind enough to change the course of the mind!!!!ππ§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
Simple, but hard...and YES, it is your choice (again in most cases).
As there can be medical issues with the eyes and ears, there can be medical issues with the brain. These can need medical assistance π
I am not an expert, but if you ever want to ask questions, I am happy to try to help π₯°
Food for thought π€
Good morning gorgeous peeople πΌ
I hope you have a beautiful weekend...I sure did!! We made some great progress on our room π
Because I am feeling so full of love, life, happiness and gratitude, I would LOVE to share that feeling x
Take a moment just to stop, close your eyes and take a deep breath β¨οΈ
Does it feel restricted, do you struggle to breathe deeply (at least 6 seconds), does doing this agitate the flow of your breath, is your chest tight...if you answer yes to any of these questions, you need tonight's class π
pm if you would like to join me x
Please note: class price increased to $15 on 1st of March π₯°
As always, props to the amazing Lea Androic https://instagram.com/leaandroicart?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= for her beautiful artwork π
Hey Yogis π
Tonight we move up to Pran Vayu...the energy that fills us with vitality, love, compassion, health and dependability π₯° It maintains a strong immune system.
This is the energy that makes us feel GOOD π
Let's backbend tonight and build up our Pran π«Ά

Did you know that the shape created by ancient yogis, that we come into during yoga (asana), has a purpose and is not to see how flexible we are or how good we look doing it. The asana gives us a container to breathe energy into. The shape determines the area we breathe that energy in to, which in turn has a specific energetic effect on our mind.
"Shape the body to control the breath, shape the breath to control the mind!"
For the next five weeks, we will work our way through the five pose categories that relate directly to our five main vayus (energetic pathways within the body).
See if you can notice the effect, not just whilst in the pose, but even long after you have left the class.
PM if you would like to join in tonight to start the journey through the vayusπ«

Tomorrow night we will focus on fewer poses with longer holds, intertwined with some yogic techniques, to restore, nourish and rejuvenate our frayed nervous system from the festive season π₯°
When we are stressed or busy, our Sympathetic Nervous System kicks into overdrive to protect us from the perceived threat, which uses a lot of energy. The problem is this is designed to be a short term fix to get us out of danger. Our lives have become so stressful and busy that our nervous system perceives our whole life as a threat. Leaving us low on energy, tired, lethargic, not being able to think straight, grumpy, and impatient. Our cells, brain, skin, hair, and even internal organs are affected as they all need this energy to rejuvenate, which we now lack.
Give your nervous system the space, safety and time to change gears and shift into Parasympathetic mode. Use the techniques that the yogis have been using for centuries to reground, rest and restore. And sleep like a baby with not a care in the world π΄
I know not too many of you are around, but pm if you are, and you need this tomorrow night...I'll save your safe space ππ
Class is at 5.30 π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
Next step down...flooring and painting to go. Classes will start in our new space hopefully in March π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈπ«Άπππ¦ππ¦π±πΏ
to say I am excited is an understatement...I am exploding right now π
Guess where my practice will be this morning π
This week's class we will be strengthening our energy and resilience, in a grounding and calming way, to help us thrive in the silly season ahead and the sensory overload that goes with it π
PM if you would like a space saved for tomorrow nights restorative class at 5.30.

To carry on from our "Wake up from Winter Class" two weeks ago, we are going to work a little into our hips tonight.
Our hips are another area that we tend to curl into in winter and therefore they tighten up.
The lower part of our body is also where we hold a lot of the denser energy, too much of which makes us feel dull and lethargic.
Let's open up, brighten up and get ready to meet summer head on πΌπππ
Please pm if you would like a space saved π
Space is limited as classes are small and suitable for beginners π«

Good afternoon gorgeous souls x
As we come out of winter, it is time to open up our body, our lungs and our heart.
When we are cold, as when we are depressed, our body naturally folds in to protect our vital organs. This creates so much tension in our body, and with a lack of oxygen, lack of energy in our mind.
If you would like to join me to crack open our protective layer and feel reinvigorated and full of warmth, life and love again, pm me and I will save you a space in tomorrow's class β¨οΈπ
Did you know tight hips can refer pain to so many places in the body. Is your sore lower back referred pain? Think about what hips are required to do in every day, from sitting, standing, walking, running, climbing. There are a lot of different types of tissue keeping them together, holding you upright, assisting them to bend and move, to lift your legs, put them back down and connect your legs to your body. All of these can tighten from overuse or underuse.
In class tomorrow night we will be releasing some of the tension to ease the pain.
PM if you would like a space saved to find a shape, drop in to stillness, relax your hips and your mind π
You are worth one hour of your time π
Progression on the yoga room YAY!!!
Can't wait to be doing my own personal morning yoga practice in this serenity ππ
AND sharing this space with my beautiful yogis π₯°
Tonight we are going to do a heart opening class using a little bit of Kumbhaka (breath retention). I want you to think of something that you are grateful in your life, something that makes you really happy. We are going to use our breath and the backbend shapes that we hold, to infuse that feeling into our body and the energy within our body.
You will leave feeling full, content, warm and fuzzy π
Please pm if you would like a space saved
My complete, peaceful, happy place β£οΈ
If you would like to find yours, join me Tuesday night...pm if you would like me to save you a space π₯°
Winter time sees us curling up and hunching in, to stay warm so much! It's our protective mode...the same action we do when we are traumatised!
This action shortens and tightens a lot of the muscles in the hip area. So it's not a coincidence that opening up and extending these muscles can affect us both physically and mentally. We are ultimately releasing both physically and mentally stored blockages/tension π
Guaranteed it is not always the nicest at the time, but it feels so liberating and relaxing after, that it is all worth it π
Let's get in to those hips tonight π
PM me if you would like to book a space for tonight's 5.30pm Hip Releasing Restorative Yoga class π
For all my regulars...Acknowledge, accept, release π
Tonight's class is a back bend/chest opening class. The benefits, amongst so many others, are increased vitality or energy, patience, love and, very importantly at this time of the year year, immunity.
Please pm me to save your spot if you are keen for a shot of health benefits, oh and a good stretch of the entire frontline of your body π
