Removing all the eggs is most effective whether you use a lotion to “treat” them or not. Weekly combing is the best method for prevention for the same reason if you miss an egg treating one week you will capture the louse the following week and prevent an infestation taking hold

Sometimes we get the wrong information from well meaning family and friends and we can’t work out why we struggle so much. This family was controlling the lice in everyone’s hair but the thickness of this child meant it was much harder to control for them. No suggestions worked until she come to me. They now have all the details they need to keep her lice free and the right tools to keep the whole family clear 🥰

Shaving the hair or cutting it short isn’t the remedy for lice. Lice are the second most common communicable disease in kids so learning regular preventative combing is the key to ending lice infestations. Like brushing their teeth to prevent cavities using a nit comb like mine will identify and remove any louse that may have transferred to your child through the week. If you do find a louse you can then fine comb to check and remove any eggs that may have been laid. Try using the nit comb to finish pulling the hair into a pony tail or to comb conditioner through the hair when washing. Set a regular time and day and it will become routine in no time.

In this families case the comb they were using wasn’t getting the eggs. As they built up it became harder and harder to comb and remove the lice. Close to giving up the mum had her hair chopped at and they were going to shave the daughters hair when they found my number and I am so glad they did. Unfortunately we couldn’t do anything with mums hair as it was badly hacked at so it was shaved to allow it to grow back even. Thankfully they now know where to get proper help and how to comb to prevent with the Nit Picker Comb.

Not everyone gets the same education when it comes to head lice. I want to teach everyone what to look for. How to comb to prevent, identify and remove head lice and their nits(eggs) quickly and effectively.

I am often asked how to comb the way I do to get all the nits and lice out so “easily” this is exactly how I comb! I do this day after day client after client all ages all hair types. It works. You may take a little practice to get it right but you will get it.

Before and afters make me remember why I do what I do. Regardless of the judgments and rude comments I read, the smiles on the people’s faces when they are finally lice free make it all just dissolve away and remind me why I really do love this job 🥰
