Graphite is the next big trouble in EV battery supply chain - Industry Tap 20/06/2022

Graphite is expected to become the next major bottleneck in the production of battery packs for electric vehicles (EVs). Some industry players are already experiencing tightness and the situation is expected to worsen.

We're in a great position to help by upgrading GDTC carbon gained from end of life tyres to graphite using a number of developing technologies in conjunction with our partners.

Media Release: We just signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Environmental Clean Technologies Limited to develop a tyre recycling plant at Bacchus Marsh site.

The obvious synergies with ECT make this an exciting proposition for both of us.

All the products from our process need to be cooled to ambient temperature for collection and sale. The energy released is ideal for collection and consumption within ECT's COLDry process to support drying operations.

Illegal tire dumping continues in the United Kingdom | Weibold – Tire Recycling & Pyrolysis Consulting 19/01/2022

Illegal dumping of old tyres continues around the world. This story is from the UK, including a proposed solution to stop any incentive for shady operators to make money.

The merits of the idea of a levy paid to Government are there but need serious deliberation amongst all parties concerned. The government, manufacturer, consumer, collector/recycler all need to be involved for it to become a viable idea.

Dr Denis Allan Randall, the technical genius behind the GDT Destructive Distillation process that turns end-of-life tyres into oil, carbon and steel, sadly passed away on 6th January 2022, after battling a number of health issues over recent years.

Denis was active in the business up to the end, participating in team calls and discussions, sometimes with good humour, sometimes impatience.

He was a very good teacher and our team have been able to use their own knowledge and experience to build on the technology originally developed by Denis.

All that remains is for us who remain to fulfil his dream and complete the Warren plant and to continue his wish to see more plants around Australia and the world turning waste tyres into
highly valuable commodities, in support of his vision and the circular economy.

To quote his beloved Gilbert and Sullivan (W.S. Gilbert)
“Is life a boon?
If so, it must befall
That Death, whene'er he call,
Must call too soon.”
