Petition Plibersek re: protection of water

Tamboran's mega fracker could drill across hundreds of kilometres, use up to four times the amount of water than anything else in Australia, and release millions of tonnes of pollution.

Yesterday, to mark the 20th anniversary of the Blue Mountains launch of Ecopella's first album, An Organism Called Earth, Miguel began uploading videos made on that day.

He got carried away and spent the next 12 hours going through our entire collection. The best 36 videos are now on Youtube.

Ecopella performed two big sets at Smiths Alternative in Canberra on Sunday. What a fabulous venue! No need for microphones in that cosy space yet we all fit comfortably on stage. It was wonderful to sing with our Canberra contingent for a receptive ACT audience. Three Canberrans, three Bundanoonians, four Sydneysiders and a Mount Kemblan made up the ensemble.

Last night, Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek dismissed the climate impacts of three huge new coal mines on our Living Wonders as part of Environment Council of Central Queensland legal intervention.

In legal terms, she has decided the climate harms identified in thousands of pages of evidence are not relevant to her risk assessment of these proposed mines.

But itโ€™s not over. Our client ECoCeQ is carefully considering all legal options including Federal Court challenges and injunctions, if required.

Our Environment Minister has a fundamental legal responsibility to properly consider all risks to our environment.

And the climate risks of new gas and coal are no different.

This decision is out of step with science and public sentiment, and the Minister needs to understand this.

Recycling your glass items can be a great way to help the environment, but it's important to know what can and can't be recycled.

โœ… All glass bottles and jars can go in your yellow lid bin for recycling.
โœ… Say yes to alcohol bottles, sauce and jam jars, juice bottles, oil, sauce, and vinegar bottles.
๐Ÿšซ Glassware such as wine glasses, drinking glasses, and glass bakeware goes in general waste.

๐Ÿค” When in doubt, check your local council's website for more details.

So let's all do our part and recycle right! ๐ŸŒโ™ป๏ธ
