The Rockhampton District Secondary Schools schoolboys rugby league action continued yesterday at venues across the region.
The RGS Year 7 team scored a 38-14 win over Yeppoon State High at Yeppoon; the RGS Year 9 team held on for a 24-16 win against North Rockhampton State High while the RGS Open 3rds had a 52-6 loss against St Brendan's College. RGS teams have byes tomorrow.

RGS teams had some tough losses against St Brendan's College last Friday night with the 8A and 2nd XIII teams both playing competitive first halves before St Brendan's dominated the second halves.
Great to see students giving back by refereeing. Kyra has been refereeing local Schoolboy League games this term with Nick Taylor. Any students interested in refereeing should contact Mr Bennett to assist.
Congratulations to Bailey and Kyra who took charge of the U15 and U13 RCL Boys Grand Finals today. They have both had great seasons, but a special shout out to Kyra in her first year of refereeing juniors.

RGS Rugby Club will be running the Rockhampton Leagues Club raffles tonight from 5:30-8:00pm. Feel free to drop down and watch the Broncos vs Knights and enjoy a drink and/or dinner and you might win a meat tray in the raffle.

RGS Head of Rugby Mr Calvin Bennett said even though the results didn’t go their way, the RGS teams played with a “never say die” attitude. "They stuck to their game plans and, at times, played some attractive rugby league. A special mention must go to the Year 7 team who defeated NRSHS and Cameron Bell for scoring a hat trick in his first game for the school."

Dolphins Cup:
The RGS boys rugby league Challenge team remains undefeated in the Dolphins Cup after a 24-10 win over Emmaus College at Emmaus yesterday.
RGS scored an important win over Emmaus College in the boys Cup games, with RGS running 18-14 winners. In a scrappy game, RGS came out strong in the first half before holding off a spirited Emmaus comeback in the second half.
In the girls game, RGS went down 20-12 to Emmaus. The RGS girls game together well in the second half to play some strong rugby league.
The RGS Challenge and Cup teams play St Brendan's College at Rugby Park on Tuesday next week.
Dolphins Cup games resume today for the RGS boys Cup and Challenge teams and the Open girls team. RGS is playing at Emmaus College this afternoon. Game times:

RGS Head of Rugby Mr Calvin Bennett said there were positives from all the games, like the way that the RGS teams never gave up, despite being behind on the scoreboard.

The Rockhampton District Secondary Schools Rugby League schoolboys Term 3 competition kicked off yesterday.

RGS Head of Rugby Mr Calvin Bennett said it was a really positive start to the season from the teams, with free-flowing rugby league on offer.
"There were some monster hits, quick line breaks and some amazing tries scored on the opening day of the RDSSRL competition. Congratulations to the RGS 7’s and 9’s for winning their opening fixtures and to the 3rds, who narrowly went down to Yeppoon State High School’s first team, in what was a very entertaining game."

TITANS CONTRACT:
The Rockhampton Grammar School and the Gold Coast Titans congratulate the School’s First XIII Captain Henry Kallquist on signing with the Gold Coast Titans until at least the end of 2026. Henry will join the Gold Coasts Future Titans programme for pre-season training in November. This is recognition of Henry’s dedication and performance throughout the 2024 rugby league season. This year, Henry has represented the School in the Dolphins Cup and Confraternity Shield as well as gaining valuable experience in the both the Capras Under 17 and Under 19 programmes, and the Capricornia Under 18 rugby league team.
Henry's first opportunity to wear the Titans colours could come as early as January when the Future Titans play the Newcastle Knights in the Under 17 and Under 19 age brackets.
It was all smiles from RGS students who represented Queensland Country rugby union teams this week in games against City. Country won the U13 boys division (RGS players - Nate and Flynn), U16 girls division (RGS players - Alice, Evan, Marnie, and Willow), U14 girls division (RGS player - Fallon), and U14 boys division (RGS player - Gabriel). Josh joined the competitive U16 boys Country team which scored 1 win and 1 loss. Congratulations to all the players who proudly represented Queensland Country.
Congratulations to RGS students selected in Queensland Country rugby teams following the Queensland Country Rugby Championships in Rockhampton last weekend.

The selected teams travelled south on Sunday afternoon following the championships and spent yesterday in training camps on the Sunshine Coast. Good luck to the Country teams when they play City this week. Their first games are in Caloundra today.

Congratulations to RGS Alumni Alenna Whipp (RGS 2022) on receiving an "Ex-Players" award at the Confraternity Carnival's awards night in Townsville last week. Alenna joined the RGS coaching staff in Townsville as the First XIII Girls Assistant Coach.

Joining the Central Queensland Under-16 girls rugby union team at the Queensland Country Rugby Championships in Rockhampton this week are RGS students Eliana, Alice, Willow, Marnie, Zafeera, Evan, and Kyra.
Alice, Marnie, Evan and Kyra only just returned to Rockhampton after representing RGS in the girls competition at the Confraternity rugby league carnival in Townsville this week.
The RGS First XIII finished the 2024 Confraternity Carnival with a 20-0 win over Peter Claver College in Townsville this morning. Xavier Nott was the RGS player of the game. Henry Kallquist received the RGS team's Stewart Norford Medal (Henry is pictured with Stewart's daughter Ashleigh Harvey). The medal is voted by the RGS coaches and players.
RGS best and fairest player of the carnival was Cooper Broadhurst while Tumanako Hatley won the RGS Spirit of Confraternity award.
Good luck to the RGS First XIII in Term 3 when they continue Dolphins Cup games and compete in the Rockhampton District Secondary Schoolboys rugby league competition.

Good luck to all the RGS students, and RGS Alumni, representing the Central Queensland Bushrangers teams in this week's Queensland Country Rugby Union Championships in Rockhampton.
The Rockhampton Grammar School is once again proud to sponsor this year's event which has attracted over 1000 players from regional areas across Queensland.
Games are being played across four fields at Victoria Park and Rockhampton State High School. The first game kicked off earlier this morning, and the action continues tomorrow and Sunday. 72 games of rugby over three days!

Congratulations to the RGS Girls on their 18-10 win over St Joseph's College this morning. RGS player of the game was Kyra Kent. This was the girls final game for Confraternity 2024.
Gracie Finger won the girls team's RGS Spirit of the Carnival award as voted by the RGS coaches and players.
Alice Kallquist was the RGS Best and Fairest player of the carnival.
Serenity Mila (Townsville Christian College) was selected as lock in the Confraternity Merit Team.
The RGS girls are back in action now on Field 6 against St Joseph's College while the RGS boys play at 12.45pm today against St Patrick's Shorncliffe on Field 1.
